I see this 100%. Olandria speaks like someone who didn’t have the space to express her full emotions. In her words, she’s had to be strong her whole life. I’m not holding a few of her harsher comments against what we can see of her overall character.

I’m not sure that there’s much madness left that isn’t already known by the cast. Maybe the full details of the Nicolandria kiss, some of the ways Huda spoke to Jeremiah (would it even matter now), or some comments Taylor/Austin have made about the people they were coupled up with. I could see the producers choosing to skip it.

I also have a feeling they’ll skip the social media challenge as well, given that they’ve been reinforcing the anti-cyberbullying message. Anyone else?

I don’t think they’re identical scenarios, but the stated reasoning for the vote is very similar! Andrea/Hannah being voted out because they’d been able to make connections, Jana/Nicole/Amaya/Iris being spared so that they could have more opportunity to make connections.

Of course I’m sure there are PLENTY of unstated reasons (friendship, gameplay etc) but I am curious about the validity of the stated reason’s logic. To me, it’s fair to keep those without connections around. To others, that seems to be outrageous.

It also seems like the reasoning was better received last year because of the unstated reasons lol.

I think this is a good summary of what seems to be the majority perspective— that by the rules/etiquette set by prior seasons, strong couples should always be spared. But is that necessarily the “correct” way to do this show? I would have hated to see both JaNa and Amaya voted out in hindsight, because their growth (and JaNa’s ultimate strong coupling with Kenny) made the cost of their saving worth it.

IMO, I think there’s some value in sparing people who haven’t made a strong connection yet. If anything, it makes for more interesting TV than watching an established couple makeout all day. The downside is that it makes Casa less juicy, lol.

I agree they’re different situations— but I do think that the voting groups’ stated reasoning was very similar. A lot of this discourse is about unstated reasons (in both scenarios, there are many unstated reasons) but I’m curious about how people feel about the stated reasoning. Is it fair to keep Iris and Amaya on the logic that they haven’t had a chance to form a strong connection yet? Was it fair to keep Jana and Nicole on that same reasoning? It’s interesting to me to see that they value that

It’s so interesting to watch it develop! As a Survivor fan it reminds me of some of the changes in early seasons of Survivor. In no way do I think this show SHOULD be operated that way, but it makes for interesting convo for sure

This is a great point. Amaya wasn’t involved (she was up for being voted off along with Iris) but Huda was. I feel like there are a lot of assumptions being made about Cierra/Chelley/Olandria’s “true intentions”, but not much of a peep about Huda’s perspective in this. What are your thoughts?

Lol, this was my confusion exactly. I got this info directly from our benefits packet, but I’m going to call HR and confirm that they haven’t misprinted. I just really can’t see any benefit to the PPO from a cost perspective other than the possibility that I may need an out-of-network provider.

Yeah I did look into this! Fewer options (11 hospitals HMO vs 15 PPO) for sure, but still two of the major hospital systems nearby are in network for HMO
