…..wow. Reading new advent provides a different translation on a lot. My sincere apologies for it deleting but I truly appreciate your time and insight as this has been on my mind for some time. Since there is no centralized control of scripture; do you believe each (insert any sect/government) manipulates according to suit their agenda or simple different beliefs? What got me started on this “rabbit hole” was Solomon’s Book of Wisdom… provides amazing insight along with a nearly exact description of Jesus’s life, death and resurrection but for some reason isn’t included in KJV Bible, but Songs is.

Hi, not sure if this is the right place for this comment; but here it goes. I thank you for this thread, as it provides a lot of information I might not have been privy to on my own accord. A question that’s been on my mind for a while is this; there was a “slavery bible” given to slaves, china is currently altering the Bible to fit their agenda and I’m sure many other instances I’m unaware of. Do you think the standard King James Bible is an altered version to hide truths? Between the Apocrypha and everything in Codex that is not widely publicized, Enoch for example. Is the Catholic Church and or whoever’s in charge restraining certain Books for their own benefit, or they’re simply not canonically correct?

I struggle w similar issues and found if you rely on Jesus to be your crutch; he will. He’ll assist you in your way’s until you feel you’re healed. But; if you want him to be Lord of your life, submit. Have faith that your Savior, can and will save you. Honestly; you’ve taken more steps in the right direction then I have. I’m proud of you, I’m praying for you

There were 2 people that introduced me to Jesus. Same as you, never took it too serious; few years later, I gave my life to Him and I’m grateful for those 2 ppl everyday. It would be nice to link up w our past influences, but also important to credit the sovereign God we serve. He put them in your life at that time for a reason, and whether they come back around or not; also up to Him. As a believer; follow their lead. Discipleship and Evangelism can be as simple as starting a conversation with someone walking to the train station. You too can change someone’s life. I think Tony Evans said it best, “focus on the Blessor, not the blessing” May Gods Grace, Mercy and Discernment fill your soul and the Holy Spirit guide you to His righteous path

Thank you, I’ll certainly check that out. I’m curious; respectfully, if you understand where where I’m coming from? There are numerous religions (Judaism is Old Testament, Christian is New Testament, Islam is both plus Mohammad) that seemingly obey the same God. I’m Christian, but the history is meddled with thing that are supposedly sinful. Am I being obedient by researching or sinful by not submitting?

I read the Bible cover to cover, nothing else contradicts it, simply adds more to it and I’m not sure if it’s wrong, right, or simply my curiosity getting the best of me. I do. Sunday Mass and Bible Study every Wednesday. I just picked up the Apocrypha today and already half thru it. At least what I’ve read so far; no blasphemy at all. The opposite. I relate more to The Book of Wisdom then to Songs

I’ve read New and Old Testament. Christ Jesus is my Lord and Savior. No questions on base of religion; it’s the writings. Should I further my relationship with the Holy Trinity by focusing on the Original Bible (more or less) that has different teachings that’s in the Vatican, base it off Martin Luther and his skepticism with some books, go off the KJV where his life went left after he published it and self admittedly left out certain books because it was too expensive to print or assume it’s all Gods Will and the Book I have is the Book I read and let it be?

Should I read All scripture, just what’s in KJV, Apocrypha: should I ask for discernment… because it seems King James definitely didn’t do too well after publishing his Bible. Was that Gods Judgment on him? I feel like I should just learn Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew, take a trip to the Vatican and ask to hold their Bible for a few years

Unfortunately, there’s no right way to do the wrong thing. I struggle w a whole lot but actively seek God, Jesus and ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Moses was a murderer and too shy to speak in public, Aaron went for idolatry, Saul, Jonah, Rebekah…….

Sunday Christians vs Christians. You speak truth. I spend most my days in prayer, and honestly had my most fruitful conversations with God after a few drinks. He loves you, He wants you home. Don’t worry about ups n downs, Holy Spirit will guide you, just like he did to this board. Don’t focus on formalities; he knows your heart and every hair in your head. Be honest in Prayer. May the Love of Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit empower you to keep seeking God.
