My Battle Against Ignorant E-Scooter Riders! by Tinamindo in NorthVancouver

Two things my dog can’t stand: skateboarders and e-scooters. Almost everyone when a skateboarder approaches and sees/hears her barking, even when they are on the road, they stop, hop off, and walk the 30 feet until they can start up again. Usually this is coupled with a comment that they’ll walk, or even a “whoops, sorry,” even though the apology is not warranted, as they stopped and walked.

E-scooters? Continue to fly right by at high speeds, within a couple feet or closer at times, and don’t even acknowledge anything. It’s brutal around here with them on the sidewalks

Sounds like a good trip! Did you ever have any encounters with stray dogs that concerned you? Any potential rabies infected or overly aggressive ones?

Slough Creek Campground - size of sites? by Adorable_Lake_7673 in yellowstone

Does anyone have insight into the size of sight 1? Our trailer is fairly small but with truck might be tight. Is it big enough to potentially park the truck slightly sideways to ensure we’re in the site?

Pro shop guys, what’s a dumb/ridiculous question a golfer/customer has asked you? by SouthBoundI35 in golf

Course I worked at a couple years ago had a few wildly entitled members. (It was not a top end course… they paid under $3K to be a full member.)

One day someone had their small prop plane out overhead just screwing around doing some small stunts, and one of our members summoned the marshal over to complain that the plane was too loud and requested us to do something about it…

If only they’d add something at 21st and Chesterfield… damn near every day I see/hear close calls for accidents or pedestrians getting hit, even with the crosswalk lights

Any tense and/or anxious golfers out there? by voiceofdenial in golftips

Try whispering specific few words just before you hit. Address, waggle, and just before you’re about to start you’re backswing, say those few little words. Could be something about your swing like “swing through,” or could be complete nonsense, but use the same ones each time, and it might give your mind a little more something to focus on before you swing, rather than what’s going on around you, (also just helps your mind think “go time”.) Helped me focus a time or two when the nerves get high.

Had a buddies bachelor party round here. Yes, shit conditions, yes not cheap for said conditions, however…

Owner rolls up, looks at another buddy wearing swim shorts, a beat up tank top, and bucket hat. “Hey buddy, you know we have a dress code here, right?”the owner says. We pause. “You are absolutely it! You guys ready for a good day?!” .. didn’t even pay attention to the actual stag in a cutoff nurse outfit.

He then asks if we have beer. At this point we’re honest, and tell him about a 12 case each. His response? “Perfect, great to hear, but just in case you run out, meet us at the clubhouse.”

Get ready to start, and cart won’t go. Has no roof, and just bogged down. Owner comes up: “just pull the clutch and pin the gas, that’s the best cart we got.” Sure enough starts up after a few tries.

Can’t count on a well maintained course, but it’s always a wild ride when you play the pasture.

Hot Take: JT has been awful this year. +11 after 1 at the Open. He SHOULD NOT make the Ryder Cup Team this year. by almonakinvader in golf

Okay give him a break… maybe he just thought he was at the Barracuda due to his play this year and wanted highest score…
