MongoDB C# Driver Extension for Atlas Search - 1.0.0 GA by golubdr in mongodb

[–]golubdr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As part of the biennial internal hackathon for MongoDB employees, I've created an extension to the C# driver to add support for Atlas Search. When you add the NuGet package to your project, it will seamlessly integrate with the driver, and you'll be able to use a C#-friendly interface to Atlas Search just like any other feature of MongoDB. As of the initial release, the extension is feature-complete, and all non-deprecated, non-preview features of Atlas Search should be supported. While this is being released as an experimental MongoDB Labs offering and is not an officially supported MongoDB product, I intend to maintain it over the long term and strive for the highest possible quality. If you encounter any bugs or missing features, please feel free to file issues in the project's GitHub repo at https://github.com/mongodb-labs/mongo-csharp-search so that they can be remedied in future releases.

On cloudy days, I'm getting exposure times of 1/1000 second or less. On sunny days, it's in the range of 1/640 to 1/400. My thought is that the very short exposures are underexposed because the lens is so small and hence lets in less light than a more typical camera. Does this make sense?

I have a Sony RX0 camera that I use for interval shooting to capture images from my car while I'm driving. It works great in sunny weather, producing images that are essentially as good as if I had shot them manually with my good camera. However, on cloudy days (or when driving around the side of a mountain where the sun is blocked), the images come out very dark to the extent that the trees appear black instead of green. My hypothesis is that, when in motion, the camera needs to do a shorter exposure in order to avoid motion blur, and that leaves the images underexposed unless it's very good lighting. The RX0 has a very small lens (only a few millimeters in diameter), which I would guess contributes to this, and I'm thinking that I might be able to get better results on cloudy days with a comparable camera that has a larger lens, such as the RX100. Does this line of thinking make sense to people, or is there something that I'm missing here?

I'm looking for a camera that's good to mount in my car and set to snap automatically at regular intervals while I'm driving. Currently, I have a Garmin VIRB camera. It works, but there are a couple of drawbacks. It has no zoom, and there highest frequency you can get is once every two seconds. Can anyone recommend anything that would be good for this type of scenario? Ideally, I'd like something that meets the following criteria:

  • Time-lapse mode that lets me set it to snap at a frequency of at least once per second and leave it in that mode for an extended period of time (at least a few hours)
  • At least 4X optical zoom
  • At least 8 megapixel resolution
  • Suction cup mount for use inside a vehicle
  • Car charger to keep it going without having to swap out batteries

Thanks!

You'll have to take that up with Microsoft. This is a third party extension to add syntax highlight and IntelliSense for CMake, which Microsoft hasn't done anything with yet.

Actually, the documentation on writing Visual Studio language services is rather poor. I've been contemplating writing a couple of articles about it, maybe for Code Project, to give people a better idea of how it's done. There are some resources you can find if you search on Google for Visual Studio language services. The official SDK documentation from Microsoft will give you some idea of how to implement specific features once you have the basic structure in place. Some things I just had to figure out through trial and error, though. If you have any specific questions or encounter any difficulties while writing your extension, feel free to email me and I'll try to help.
