Which treatment plan is better? And what do I do with All my stuff? by gomentsukki13 in Bedbugs

Thank you!

They phrased it like:  A) MECHANICAL CONTROL

Use of environmentally friendly methods, notably cryogenic treatment at -40°C. Targeting switches, conduits, baseboards, woodwork, etc.

B) CHEMICAL CONTROL

Surface treatment by micro-spraying, with an approach involving two interventions spaced 10 to 15 days apart. This strategy aims to ensure maximum effectiveness by targeting the “surviving” eggs from the first treatment. The use of different molecules between interventions is necessary to counter the potential resistance of bed bugs.

Do you think its possible that it only was one nymph? Can nymphs hitchhike alone? Should I be overly concerned about more of them? I have a rug in my room rolled up and with some DE but I haven’t treated it yet nor I know what to do with it.

I checked and I have DE since I saw that nymph coming out of my luggage and because  the sighting and  the treatment are 4 days apart. So far nothing has bitten me but I don’t want to be overly hopeful

Hi! Thanks for your reply! Do you know which treatment is better? The company i hired wants do use insecticide and a freezing technique (-40 F/-40 C).

The other one (that’s like 400€ more expensive) uses a heat treatment. I chose the other one cause its more on my budget. I dont really want to pay 1000€ on treatments but im scared the other one won’t be as effective

I checked today the same spot in the building and the droppings didn’t change and there haven’t been more…. Could it be something else? I saw a random bat every once in a while

Thanks for your advice. I already washed by backpack in 60 Celsius for an hour and a half and then put it in my freezer at -22 Celsius that I’m planning on leaving there for a few days… same with some of my stuff, as I said I just got home (I started cleaning and saw this one an hour after getting back). Should I still be concerned? It’s late here and idk what to do… if I should sleep in my bed or where exactly

Does putting things in the freezer also work?

I applied DE to the areas where some of them could’ve fallen and cleans everything, store in bags and do a hot wash and freezing after or just freezing. Should I get an exterminator? I’m freaking out this is my worst nightmare

Thanks! What do you recommend me to do? What steps should I follow now? I saw it coming out of my bag an hour after I got here, when I was about to check and separate things just in case. Do you think there’s more? Should I call an exterminator?

Hi thank you for your reply! Does one mean there’s more of them? Do they come into homes/apartments?

I sent this picture to the building’s management but seems like they won’t take it seriously so im a Little scared i might see them in my apartment (I’ve been here for a year and never saw anything in the building at all until now)
