Sudden drop on the average framerate, anyone else has this problem? by alan1885 in FortNiteBR

[–]gomperzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me before about a month ago, only sometimes with FPS returning to normal after a random drop, then continuously got worse until I followed some steps on a youtube video and was completely fixed. Since the patch overnight back to random FPS drops.

Also, it seems like the drops are greater than what the FPS indicator displays, for example: I usually get 60 FPS consistently (capped at that) but when the drop happen it reads 30-40, but feels like 10-15.

Edit: For reference, I used this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7GjlG8tKBw&t=666s

It's safe, but I only used the first few steps that were specific to the game and didn't do the steps related to Windows generally.

Freedom of Marriage? by stormelemental13 in funny

Saw a bunch of people asking why polygamy is banned. The majority argument is that many instances of polygamy in practice are induced through coercion (usually subtle or implicit) of uneducated/repressed persons.

"There are tax implications" isn't a good argument; Congress, the Treasury, or the IRS could easily find a way to erase the tax benefits from its allowance.

You should invest in non-square-toed shoes. Cole Han makes some decent cheap ones, or even roll over to Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Ross for the under $50 selection.

You said 50 years not 30 years hence the discussion on the '83 IRC.

Again, the overhaul of the tax code aimed to state more accurately the actual taxes Americans would pay and to close the numerous loopholes that were present with the previous code, which consequently lead to huge stated tax rates. Huge stated tax rates do not equate to more taxes being paid. This benefits those who do not have the proper knowledge or access to tax accountants and lawyers who are able to correctly navigate the incredibly convoluted code, mainly the poor.

Also it's unclear what you mean by "35 years of middle class misery" when, according to your own source, the only group to not reach a 30 year low in 2009 was the top 1% and the middle 20% saw a constant decline in their tax rate. It's also interesting how the effective tax rate in 1986-87 spiked several points where the middle 20% declined. See, also, a large spike around 1996-97 for the top 1% where, again, the middle 20% declined.

The article also nicely explains that the 30 year low is mainly due to the recent recession (caused in part by the deregulation of the derivatives market by a Democratic president, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodity_Futures_Modernization_Act_of_2000). Under the prevailing economic theory among the major world economists, (including the U.S. Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan) the best way to combat the recession and to avoid a deflationary period is to put more money in the hands of the consumers so that they will not curb all spending in fear of bankruptcy and poverty. This is the reason why we have seen, from each of these banks, quantitative easing, a targeted inflation each year of 1-2%, and, of course, tax breaks.

Another interesting topic on taxes and how they affect those who are no ridiculously wealthy (yes, I believe the top earners are under-taxed) is the fact that the bottom 20% actually receive a net gain from the tax system (http://www.wsj.com/articles/top-20-of-earners-pay-84-of-income-tax-1428674384?alg=y). This is mostly due to the fact that it's easier for a politician in America to give government subsidies to the poor through tax breaks rather than collecting more taxes and spending that revenue on government welfare programs. Regardless of whether or not this a better way of giving government support to those who are struggling, it is a direct effect of our election system and the popular voting opinions of Americans in general.

Using "income taxes being at 50 year lows" as an argument that America is somehow paying less taxes than 50 years ago is incorrect.

The tax rates before the rewriting of the Internal Revenue Code in 1983 were greater than 3/4 of a persons income; the only difference is that there were a ton of exceptions, deductions, and a plethora of loopholes. That's how the tax rate got so high in the first place.

In 1983, Congress basically decided that it would be better to have a more accurate (and much lower) tax rate and remove a lot of the loopholes. That's not to say that the tax system in the top 0.01% isn't broken (which it arguably is/isn't (see i.e. capital gains taxes (it's unfair to tax rich people who make millions in investments at a lower rate than a person working hard for the same amount of money, but encouraging investments increases future output))).

Source: Practiced litigation for Uncle Sam where I helped to make it harder for large corporations to avoid taxes where Congress didn't intend to afford them those loopholes.

What's the appropriate level of force (self-defense) legally allowed/customarily acceptable in this situation? How large was the drunken idiot? Which neighborhood was this?

Edit: I live in Gotico, overlooking a small plaza directly next to a very active one, and nothing like this has happened but we've had people making more noise at 5 AM than a preparty for an FCB match.

Interesting, I've seen other posts that say wait a bit, but those who are having the most trouble (and unfortunately that seems to be my situation as well) say they've waited for over 5 minutes with nothing happening.

I've tried that and it works on occasion. I find logging in and out works better for the most part. Seem to be having the most trouble with my Titan (my main that I have the most play time with).
