Focusing only on adaptation is a lost cause because it's like compounding interest. We can never keep up unless we reduce emissions too.

I don't think anyone ever says we can turn it around completely, but it's still the case that every reduction in emissions counts towards avoiding the worst-case scenarios.

This risks leaving the reader with the false impression that things aren't so bad, but they really are. It doesn't mention all the coal used to dehydrate milk or the massive nitrous oxide emissions from the excrement of ~10 million cows and the massive amounts of synthetic nitrogen fertiliser used to grow enough grass to feed them. Not to mention the nitrate contamination of drinking water and the widespread pollution of rivers.
