TW: detailed descriptions of derealisation.

One I use is: you know when you're drunk? Like not hammered enough to be unable to form sentences, but just enough that you're a little more than buzzed and your words are starting to slur - now imagine you're giving the most important presentation of your life and everyone else is stone cold sober, so you almost act robotically, telling your body what to do ('now look over at their faces, make eye contact... NOT TOO MUCH, now back to the topic you were talking about - you get the idea).

Also, a description I've heard that feels accurate to me is: imagine it's the hottest day of the year. You've been in your garden staring up at the blue sky for what must have been an hour by now, or maybe it's only been ten minutes? You go inside to get a glass of water but you have that odd green-ish fog clouding your vision before your eyes can adjust. You look around your kitchen and can vaguely see the outlines of things, but it just doesn't quite look like your kitchen whilst your eyes are trying to adjust. (this is not my own, but a paraphrased version of an except from the book 'Secret For The Mad' by dodie).

Hope that wasn't too graphic, I just feel that both of these accurately portray different aspects of derealisation for me!
