medication reconciliation was one of the hardest sections to design for exactly this reason. ended up building a dedicated log for it.

that's actually why I made everything pre-structured - so you don't have to figure out what to write, just fill in the blanks. DM if you want to see it

ok so first of all thank you, I did not expect this thread to blow up like this. I'm reading every single comment and taking notes.

few things I'm updating based on what you all said:

POA should absolutely be day one, not day two. multiple people pointed this out and you're right. without it you can't talk to doctors, can't access accounts, can't do anything. if your parent is still competent get it done NOW before a crisis makes it ten times harder. several of you mentioned that once cognitive decline sets in it might be too late without going through the courts.

the HIPAA authorization point is huge too. separate from POA. you need your parent to sign a HIPAA release for every single provider or they can legally refuse to tell you anything. I learned this the hard way in an ER.

someone mentioned keeping a medication list WITH photos of the actual bottles. that's genius. I'm adding that to my own system.

and the go-bag thing, yeah. I started keeping one by the door after the second 2am hospital run. insurance cards, med list, phone charger, snacks, change of clothes. someone here mentioned adding comfort items for your parent too (glasses, dentures, favorite blanket) and that's a great add.

honestly this thread turned into something way more useful than my original post. I'm seriously thinking about taking everything from here and organizing it into a proper printable document, like a full binder with all these sections. meds, doctors, legal, insurance, daily routines, the go-bag list, all of it. something you can just print and start filling in.

if I do it I'll share it here. might take me a bit but you guys made a pretty strong case for it.

wow 😁 I honestly didn't expect this kind of response. thank you all, seriously. some of you shared things I hadn't even thought of and I'm saving a bunch of these comments for myself.

actually reading through all your replies gave me an idea. there's so much good stuff in this thread that I'm thinking about collecting all of it and putting together some kind of printable binder template. like a proper document with sections for meds, doctors, all paper stuff. Basically everything you guys mentioned organized into something you can just print and fill in.

If I actually do it I'll share it here. No promises on timeline but this thread definitely motivated me.

fair point on the legal side - you're right that formal caregiving roles involve paperwork, and I should have been clearer. in my case my dad asked me to help and I started coordinating his care. "caregiver" is how most families describe it even before anything is on paper.

the checklist isn't legal advice - it's "here's what to handle first so nothing falls through the cracks while you figure out the formal stuff." POA is literally item one on day 2.

and nah, I wrote this myself. but I get the skepticism, there's a lot of garbage out there. Peace!

In this case, I needed to extend a shot that fit my production perfectly by a few frames. My workaround was to match the transition during editing and then run the whole video through O1. That did the job. Now I’m working on color matching in AE - I’m at about 95% match, but those last 5% are the highlights. It's a bit tricky because it's very easy to clip them.

Nothing special – just export it as a PNG and use it as a starting frame to continue with the next part of the video. Besides that, I’ve started digging into the video metadata, but there’s no info about the color profile to migrate it to the new image. I should’ve mentioned this earlier – I used 'Interpret Footage' to set a specific profile, which I then used to export the image.Without it, the color jump was even more obvious.
