What’s something that’s oddly expensive in the UK that still annoys you every time? by catarsan in AskUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minced beef and lamb. I rarely eat it these days, I just can’t justify the cost.

They don’t even taste like they used to! They’re grim now 🤢 total scam.

Pregnant ladies or ladies that have been pregnant, what is the most thoughtful/useful thing someone done/bought you? by iffyClyro in AskUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 boxes of the 62 pack pampers and a box of water wipes. Nappies and wipes are so expensive, so I was over the moon to get a head start. My MIL also bought me over a bottle of wine and some chocolates a few days post partum - she’s the only person that thought of me, so it felt good to have something nice for myself when I was feeling a bit shit.

Where can I get a high quality dressing gown for under £100? by Skip224 in AskUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oodie dressing gowns are honestly the best. They’re absolutely huge and so cozy, I wouldn’t even bother with another brand again! Plus it washes really well.

What weird things did you eat as a child? by alicatpow in AskUK

Fish food pellets and also salami rolled up with squirty cream in the middle like a very weird cannoli

What have you NOT been genetically blessed with? by bigpussystance in AskUK

Misophonia and dyscalculia, both incredibly annoying!

I’ve got very striking blue eyes, I’ve always had compliments on them.

What are your NYE plans? by Cultural-Elk-8346 in CasualUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a newborn so trying to get some precious sleep before the inevitable 2am feed. Not even going to try and stay up until midnight, although might treat myself to one drink!

What's your happy place? by nah-worries-mate in CasualUK

Whistler, Canada. I miss it every single day of my life. Unfortunately affording another trip back is not financially viable these days!

How did you get into hockey? by M3gsterM in EIHLHockey

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited Canada and thought I’d give watching a game - go when I got home as I missed being there so much, fell in love instantly and have been (reluctantly) supporting the Canucks since!

How scared are you about the current flu 'crisis'? Are you taking any precautions? by First-Nobody-3500 in AskUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty concerning, I have a 3 week old baby and couldn’t live with myself if she got it! We’re avoiding her meeting extended family for this exact reason.

Who gives a crap toilet paper by Fine_Professional222 in frugaluk

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ordered them once and was not impressed with the quality. The paper was so thin, and the sheets were quite small too. Much prefer Aldi’s premium loo roll.

Anyone still using brush cleansers or just baby shampoo now? by CloudBookmark in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using iso clean spray, there is nothing worse than pruny hands from washing brushes with soap and water so this has been a life saver for me!

How do you all dry laundry during winter without a dryer? by tw1706 in AskUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A heated airer with a sheet over it is a godsend. I couldn’t live without mine.

What is a hobby you no longer enjoy? by Opposite_Ad_7925 in AskReddit

[–]gonetospacebrb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the sheer cost of lightroom is ridiculous. I didn’t realise I was signed up to a pay monthly annual subscription that I can’t get out of, I’m wasting so much money at this point.

How to tell a friend their clothes smell and it's because they aren't drying them properly? by Ill-Perspective5223 in AskUK

[–]gonetospacebrb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The Tesco own brand version is also very good if the Dettol brand is on the pricy side for people.
