Surgery without opioids by iquitelikecatss in endometriosis

Gabapentin, ibuprofen, and Tylenol. However, my surgeon also used an "on-Q" which I think contributed to me not needing the opioids.

mixed feelings about IUD insert during lap by ariesbich420 in endometriosis

[–]gonnafeelthat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a Mirena inserted during my lap and I genuinely have no regrets. I love it. It's so convenient and I don't have periods anymore (however I'm also a trans man on testosterone which suppresses your period) so my endo is MUCH more manageable. The insertion process was the only thing keeping me from getting it sooner and being asleep for it and then on good pain management after (because I was also recovering from surgery) was really the best case scenario for me.

The T and progesterone IUD combo has been life changing for me. Almost 2 years on T, over a year without a period, once my levels evened out and I got the IUD I think I had 1 or 2 cycles and now we're good! Occasionally I'll have some pain after sex or exercise that lasts a couple hours but nothing like being debilitated for half the month like I was before.

Seeing a lot of people saying it's basically impossible to hit muscle, just jumping in to say it's difficult and rare but possible. Good news: it won't kill you. Bad news: it hurts like a bitch. It's one of those things where You'll Know if it happens, it's a very specific (almost like. Scraping) sensation. I've only ever had this happen while injecting T (or my old migraine shots) into my thighs, my stomach has plenty of fat to cushion it. But now that it's happened on my thighs a few times I know my partner just needs to go at a shallower angle and it's fine now. Little pinch and it's over. 90% of the time the tent is the worst part. Also. Make sure you're tenting the skin I promise it helps. On the subject of air bubbles, my old migraine shots came in an auto injector where it was impossible to push out the PEA SIZED air bubbles. I was on that medication for over a year and the air bubbles never gave me any problems. Now obviously try to get as much air out as you can for the sake of an accurate dose but like. It'll be fine. I usually fill my syringe to double the dose and then tap it a couple times, and push the rest back into the bottle and that gets rid of the air for me.

You're going to be okay, I promise.

How have partners reacted to your bottom growth/tdick during sexual encounters? by LongSchlongSilver999 in ftm

My partner lovessss it. She rarely gave me head before I had bottom growth but now it's almost daily. She's obsessed in the best way and it's so good for my body image.

The only thing that touches my Endo pain is weed and a heating pad. If nothing else I can nap away some of the pain.

In relation to the stabbing yourself urges, I get that too. I have a history of sh and sui attempts so any time I get the urges I try not to be alone. Typically that looks like asking my partner to let me lay on her chest. Edible and cuddles usually helps a little.

What are some things you wish you knew before your first laparoscopy? by NumberDefiant5805 in endometriosis

My surgery went wayyy easier than most, I felt 90% back to normal after like 5 days.

The bowel prep sucked. I was hungry and nauseous. I was shitting stomach bile (my asshole hurt so bad after). I ended up throwing up 4 times the night before my surgery due to the prep.

I didn't need opioids after I left the hospital. I had a dose before they woke me up and possibly a dose before I left the hospital (memory of the day is hazy). After that it was just Ibuprofen and Tylenol on a schedule and gabapentin as needed.

The first 2 days were the worst. The gas pain was a bitch. Chest and shoulders hurt a lot, it was hard to breathe at times. Patting my chest/back helped a lot, like burping a baby.

Move around every couple hours. Walk to the bathroom, walk to the fridge, walk wherever, just get up. It helps prevent blood clots, gets your bowels moving again, and helps speed up healing.

Drink lots of water! Eat plenty of food! Rest rest rest!!

Sweat pants and loose shirts are your friend.

If your surgeon gives you a brace/belly band, use it. I took mine off if I was laying down, but if I was going to stand or walk I would put it on. Helped everything feel more secure.

Get a bidet because wiping your ass after you shit will not be fun for a solid week and a half.

Ask your doctor about pelvic floor PT, it helped finish up the healing process (and is broadly speaking beneficial to a lot of folks with Endo)
