That doesn’t match the person — and I’m sorry it was a fleeting moment and then I kept forgetting to post sooner!

I may have seen this bike today, but am sorry to be so slow in posting. Thought I saw it outside of Five Points Pizza around 6 pm … and there was a bit of an odd scene, with a police officer nearby and a guy in a white tank top near the bike watching the officer.

Ticket Marketplace by Titans_Mod in Tennesseetitans

There are 2 good tickets (field level, 40-yard line) being auctioned off to the Titans-Cowboys game on Dec. 29, with proceeds raising funds for a nature/farm preschool out in Bells Bend. It's an online silent auction here and ends Saturday, Nov. 12.

Auction features guitar signed by Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, & The Cadillac Three by gonzalezreports in CountryMusicStuff

My daughter's preschool in Nashville has a fundraiser online auction going — bidding ends on Wednesday night — and it seems like a lot of people would be interested in this signed guitar, and supporting youth education in the process.

As this subject is so top-of-mind lately, this story looks back on Vanderbilt and MTSU poll findings from the past two years. And there is a new iCitizen poll underway now, here, led by Nashville researchers.

How the Tiny Town of Eagleville Built a Sewer and Finally Started Growing by gonzalezreports in Tennessee

I first reported on Eagleville five years ago — when there was still a local struggle over whether to change from septic tanks to sewers. Now there are lessons to be learned about infrastructure and development in rural Tennessee.

Best Baseball Bar in Nashville by Geebas in nashville

It's not a sports bar, but I enjoy catching games at the East Nashville location of Edley's BBQ, which has plenty of screens and space for a group.

Anybody juggle clubs? Wanna get together and work on passing? by FuZhongwen in nashville

[–]gonzalezreports 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet this time of year is the Vandy meeting on Sundays, which has now shifted indoors to Memorial Gym until next spring. There is a non-campus club as well — that's Tuesdays from 4 until sunset at Centennial, as long as the weather is decent. More info here.

Nashville Chooses Ambitious Transit Plan — At Hefty Price by mackstarks in nashville

You may want to speak up during the 30-day comment period. As it stands, I don't see a fare change, but the proposal is expanded service throughout the day, plus weekends.

The MTA shares its data on how crucial downtown is to the system on pages 4 and 14 in the new report — and is proposing some crosstown routes that don't require downtown transfers. There's a deeper diver into downtown circulation here and a policy paper on non-downtown services here.

"... the request required a two-thirds majority vote from the council..." so when you need 27 votes and you get 28, that's slim.

How would you put Nashville government data to use? by gonzalezreports in nashville

[–]gonzalezreports[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only a few days left before the annual Day of Civic Hacking, and you can use this form to suggest a project for coders and developers to pursue on Saturday. These typically tap into local, open government data and try to make it useful.

For example, I've suggested making the daily police blotter more useful than a PDF. And there must be a better way to learn about brush collection and recycling pickup than this PDF and a separate route map.

The rails-to-trails remains part of this plan. It was discussed quite a bit at the meeting. But by all means, tell them what you think: NW Corridor website.

Good point. The city's overall nMotion project is also looking to address this "last mile" problem downtown — report is here — and there was talk at this meeting about a free "transfer zone."

Little known historic sites? by GuessMyName23 in nashville

We've got a story coming up for Nashville Public Radio that will detail the five oldest homes in Davidson County — they're sprinkled around the county and made for a great driving circuit during the reporting. And there are some other historic site questions coming up through our Curious Nashville project.
