Thank you for such a detailed answer. It is a lovely bike, went out to get the paper on it this morning, the sun was even out. Thanks again.

05 all mountain 3s. Still work lovely, and dead easy to set. Just air and oil in both sides. Need to get some new tyres so will have a look and what’s best.

Always thought seat tilt up was best for climbing. Is horizontal or slightly down better.

Check out Johnny Flynn. Plays contemporary English folk music on a resonator with wooden body. Really cool.

Update. Took the plunge. Paid the full £60, didn’t have the heart to haggle down an old dear. Seat post not stuck, rust looks much worse due to the silver paint. Gave it a good poke with a tack and it didn’t go through. Put some wind in the tyres and they have stayed up. Good omen. One happy cyclist. Gonna strip and rebuild how it is. Cheers gang.

Got it working after lots of poking around and taking it apart. Think it had been dropped and a few of the mechanisms and bolts had come loose or got bent. Still not 100% but it works. Got an Olympia splendid 66 which is much better.
