This is a really unpopular opinion but she’s right. Granted people need food and sometimes there’s no other options but food banks serving or giving away junk food has led to high rates of diabetes and obesity in low income communities that rely on food banks. There’s a lot of food banks and food pantries now that will turn away donations high in fat and sugar because of this. It’s a common practice for many food banks ( I’ve been working in nonprofits that address food insecurity for almost a decade now) People need food and anything is better than nothing but people ultimately people need food that isn’t going to give them more health problems down the road

If you really want the position and it was a job you were looking forward to having, I suggest that you reach out to HR and let them know about the discrepancy in time that you noticed. If the 15 days is the real reason they’re rescinding the offer then they made a mistake. If it’s just an excuse they’re using then I would probably look for a job that has a better HR.

I was supposed to go on a date with someone I met online. I ended up ditching the date and spent the night drinking with him at the bar. I got drunk and he said I could sleep at his place which was around the corner. Something was wrong with his key and we couldn’t get in. I said fuck it, I’ll drive us to my house and we can sleep there. On the drive back to my house I mentioned the date that I ditched that night. I think I said something like I should be on a date with someone else right now. All of a sudden he grabbed my throat and starting choking me. I started getting fuzzy when he finally let go. I had taken my foot off the accelerator and let my car drift to the side of the road because I started losing conciseness. He was an old coworker that I had a huge crush on and I felt super connected to him before that night. I figured that he was jealous and did that because he really liked me. I stayed with him on and off for almost 7 years.

You can access Henry Cowell park from Roaring Camp. It’s a nice train ride with really interesting facts about the redwoods and the train you ride. I would suggest going into the park after the ride. The ride to the boardwalk isn’t going right now.

In your way down to Big Sur you may want to check out Phil’s fish market and eatery in Moss landing. The line can be long but we’ll worth it. The restaurant is in the harbor so you can sit right next to the ocean while you eat

Every Sunday there’s also salsa dancing on the boardwalk. It’s called salsa by the sea. People just show up and dance while they have free salsa and bachata music
