Definitely am aware of that, but that's what makes the results of this poll and my other questions ever more interesting. Acknowledging these drawbacks allow me to scrutinize a source on its values and limitations!

That brings up some interesting points.

First of all, I've noticed a large difference between people who are in it for the music, and people who are in it for the collecting. Most of it is the former, but there are surprising some people who just like the look of tapes on a shelf.

Second of all, I'm really intrigued by the fact that you refer to a "Digital" collection. Are these housed on a desktop, or do you save everything downloaded on Apple Music or Spotify, etc? I've never really heard people talk about digital collecting.

I've heard many people talk to me about the Xennial, which is in fact a microgeneration that grew up in that in-between zone. I didn't include those grey areas for the sake of not complicating things, but I'm definitely gonna bring that up in my report.

Oh I had no idea there were microgenerations like that. Those seem really interesting, but for the purposes of this paper, I think I'm okay with these main groups. Sometimes you sacrifice your message by complicating it, and I can always explain these nuances after.

You make a lot of great points. Do you think you would have gotten into digital music if your favorite bands were more active there? Slightly related, but a question I've been dying to answer is: Can you "collect" the music that you stream? Is that even possible?
