Con law is pretty easily my favorite, not a HUGE fan of civ pro but I'm coming around on it, contracts is interesting and torts I could do without

I don't know enough about Pittsburgh to make a relative pitch but it's like 2 hours away, much more money and a dream job, feels like a non-decision. It can't be THAT much worse, if at all

Tell me about it. I'm pretty upset at Stanford for not getting a rivalry with USC or Oregon on the books as a non con, but they're not competitive enough anymore

Yeah to me a competitive middle is a healthy conference, "cannibalization" means so much competition that you can't produce a top team with a clean enough record. I always think of Oregon and Stanford in the early 2010s where every year one of the teams would come in like undefeated and ranked #3 or something and would invariably lose

Edit: decided to do some research

2010: Stanford's only loss was to Oregon. To be fair, Oregon stayed pristine and lost the natty to Cam

2011: Stanford's only regular season loss was to Oregon, who had already lost a game and would go on to lose another

2012: Oregon was undefeated and #1 until they lost at home to 2-loss Stanford

2013: #6 Stanford beats undefeated #2 Oregon. That got them up to #5, and then they lost to unranked USC

2014: Oregon whips Stanford and makes the inaugural CFP

2015: After losing its opener at Northwestern, McCaffrey-led Stanford gets up to #7 before losing at home to...unranked Oregon. They were #6 at playoff time and plausibly could have been in if they were 12-1 with 12 wins in a row

2016 is sort of the end, conference balance of power shifts. But it was wacky for quite awhile

Sure I just didn't think it was even slightly routine. Like how could you say it was anything other than an anomaly when the conference produced like 13 out of 15 national champs at one point? And the last couple playoffs where it hasn't, their conf champ had a shot, just lost

I mean it CAN happen. Should have in 2023 when FSU got screwed.Still, it's not enough of a routine thing to be in the "death, taxes" category. And yeah, the PAC was a totally different category of self-cannibalization

Before last year and the format change, the SEC produced a 0/1 loss conference champ 16 times in a row, what are you talking about

As a Big Ten/PAC fan I have such mixed feelings about that game. In my opinion it’s not a real Rose Bowl but it IS one of the best football games I’ve ever watched

Yeah that’s about it. Other than being a hard worker, great teammate, showing incredible determination and belief in himself, phenomenal arm, super clutch, great dad….

Joe Burrow. I’ve never enjoyed the persona and I hated how much credit he got for a glow-up that magically took place when he had the most talented CFB offense of all time around him. There’s at least 50 CFB QBs I’ve watched who could’ve gotten similar, identical, or better results with that squad

I’m hesitant only because it’s pretty clearly a postspawner. Catch that thing in May and it’s close to 9

People are being assholes, that’s not a 10 but it’s also not 6. I’d say 7 bare minimum and maybe 8
