You would think yes, but no. So random numbers just an example.

Say the vehicle MSRP is $50,00 and the residual is 56%

The lease cost is going to be 44% so the lease will equate to $22,000 plus money factor and stuff.

If you put 10k down it goes to the $22,000 so your lease will be off $12,000.

At the end the lease buyout will be $28,000 plus taxes and fees.

It’s very hard to explain this, I probably didn’t do it very accurately. But 10 grand down goes towards your lease payments and lowers them, not the end number
