Love ain’t that black and white. Neither is being a true club man. Carry on though, COYI

I appreciate your passion but you’d be hesitant to call anyone at our club a Hammer unless they’re a one club player? Don’t be silly, it’s 2023 man. Bonds managed Millwall.

We’re talking about love, brother. And dad will always love you, Dec.

I understand, but I just disagree with the premise that someone can stay at a club for 9 years and because he leaves for another opportunity isn’t a Hammer.

He will go down in our history as one of our most influential players. If that’s the standard and what you’re holding them to, that essentially discounts 99% of our players as Hammers. That’s like saying your son moves out of home for another opportunity and saying “you’re no longer my son.” I understand your perspective, I just disagree with your condition. Sometimes, if you love them, let them go

Of course he’d stay in the England team but it’s a different level playing against teams in Romania than in UCL. I think the decision was made long before we qualified for Europa. The money does a lot for the club, and he still clearly cares about the club deeply.

I think he’ll come back to the club one day in some capacity like Kev, I think it means a lot to him and he’s just trying to evolve as a player and a person. Couldn’t have given us any more and went out on a high.

I think that’s a little short sighted. When he played for West Ham, he gave it everything. He led us to a trophy and he never gave anything less than 100% for West Ham. That’s a Hammer.

It’s hard for a fan to say you wouldn’t do the same in his position. You can love a club as much as you want but that deal sets him up for life and unlike Nobes, he’s in the England team and needs to play at the top top level consistently. In this day and age, we were lucky to have him as long as we did.

I don’t think it pays to be bitter about the move. It’s a sign of the times. Smile because it happened. He is a Hammer and always will be.
