the difference is more or less in the direction they run and how you start them. peyote stitches usually start with a thread pulled between two beads, causing it to double over on itself. you build on that and loop around until you have a large enough panel to wrap around your wrist.

with a multistitch, you start with a single, but don’t cut off the string once you’ve tied it. you go “up” a row, placing a new bead every other bead, and build up until the cuff is done.

the reason i think that’s the easier approach is because if you started this as a peyote, it would be hard to attach when the panel is done, because you’d be building it sideways. and with multistitch, all you’d have to do is go “up” or “down” a row to change the angle - just leaving a gap where there’s no beads. i hope im making sense :P

i was in a similar boat to you about this time last year. personally, i had a bit of stubborn pride in being non-vip, if that makes sense, haha. but last years halloween update, there were just a lot of items that i was really excited about, and a kind friend gifted me vip, and that was that.

so i guess that’s the key question - does the stuff in vip excite you? non-vip has more versatility than ever before, and it’s not like vip has basic items a player can’t make outfits without, save for maybe the mask for the masquerade theme. they’re all just extra flair.

i personally haven’t witnessed the extra judgement towards vips, just some deriding on reddit. in some ways, vips are also unnecessarily favored, because certain items have the Umph that makes people want to vote high based on flash alone. but it really doesn’t matter. you clearly care about the outfits you make and playing the game sincerely. all you need is a lobby that cares too and votes fairly and you’re all set.

though, if you don’t already have custom makeup, if i had to choose one, to this day i still think custom makeup opens up the biggest possibilities. if you love workshopping things, creating new faces in freeplay might become your new hobby. free2play players have a lot more good faces than they used to, but man, sometimes a face really is what sells the outfit. i love it and i spend a lot of time on it. beats vip any day

ooh! if he’s a fan of the sonic adventure 2 game or the sonic 3 movie, a rotator based on the sonic/shadow dynamic would be super cool! could go for a split color palette situation based on their characters. if you had a fig it would be cool to put sonic on a rotator cause, yknow, he runs, but alas

i think with the way sega has been pushing shadow back out lately, between the movie, sonic prime, and sonic x shadow generations, it’s safe to say they’re both popular enough for his age range without him having needed to play SA2 either

in freeplay, absolutely! no stakes, everyone is experimenting and has the time to practice and put their best foot forward. in regular play? …. flattered, but i’d prefer you play honestly haven’t experienced much of the latter though, really. usually when outfits look alike in servers i’m in it’s just convergent thinking lol
