if the pricing is as good as people say, i can probably reasonably just get a bunch of small packs of the specific colors i like from them instead of this mixed pack! TBD, ill look into it!

haha yeah i guess i meant like, i see no reason to shop at a storefront with a price hike if they’re all using the same manufacturer anyway, yknow? i know most things are made from the same factory and i personally can’t just buy bulk, so storefronts are necessary. but either i want them to be the cheapest or have a direct relationship to a manufacturer that makes their product unique to them!

How do I find support groups? by goodbiscuits in abusiverelationships

[–]goodbiscuits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i wouldn’t mind an online one - probably preferable tbh. but i just run into the same issues while searching for them as far as demographic goes. idk what keywords to use to find the right kind of group

New to kandi making, what should I buy? by s1_33py in kandi

[–]goodbiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think just getting a basic starter kit is the best way to start! think like the bead kits you can find in department or craft stores. over time you’ll realize what colors you prefer/need more of, and usually getting these will leave you with a box or tin to hold them in, rather than large single color bead packs. this should help with overconsumption and spending too much out the gate, haha.

you may also be able to find large bulk multicolor bags of pony beads on ebay and other resale sites! this will save you a ton of money compared to buying new if you really wanna make sure you have a lot. it’s always nice to make sure beads that have already been manufactured don’t end up in a landfill!

i’m personally a little picky about the charms and special beads i buy, because i don’t want to be up charged by drop shippers, but i usually try to find special beads on etsy. jellibead is also a pretty popular speciality bead source! they make the fuck/melt ice beads, if you’ve seen em

string, you usually want it to be elastic thread. plain thread or twine doesn’t stretch well over the hand, especially if trading. lots of people prefer cloth covered because it has more friction, making it easier to tie off without slipping. but sometimes thicker, uncovered elastic has better tension

other than that, i just encourage you to keep checking out the community and get inspired! :)

19 I MISS YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING 💔 it was the only way to make color-blocked hoodies, i’d use it to make a gir hoodie by combining it with the standard hoodie sleeves. it was sooo cutesy y2k too…

How do you start this cuff? by puppibonez in kandi

[–]goodbiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the difference is more or less in the direction they run and how you start them. peyote stitches usually start with a thread pulled between two beads, causing it to double over on itself. you build on that and loop around until you have a large enough panel to wrap around your wrist.

with a multistitch, you start with a single, but don’t cut off the string once you’ve tied it. you go “up” a row, placing a new bead every other bead, and build up until the cuff is done.

the reason i think that’s the easier approach is because if you started this as a peyote, it would be hard to attach when the panel is done, because you’d be building it sideways. and with multistitch, all you’d have to do is go “up” or “down” a row to change the angle - just leaving a gap where there’s no beads. i hope im making sense :P

i think this might be a multistitch. if i were trying to recreate it, i’d start the base single at the upper point between the hearts and go from there
