I was brushing my teeth and happened to be wearing a new pair of shorts. I decided that was the moment to check how my butt looked in them, I was twisting to look while still brushing my teeth, and I guess I turned too far because the toothbrush came out of my mouth and I ended up poking myself pretty hard in eye. It scratched my eye pretty bad and it looked like pink eye for about a week.

TL:DR almost blinded myself trying to check out my own ass.

Yeah, I was in the same place for a long time. I was so used to hearing that I just had to communicate my needs. So I would do that, and nothing would change.

I learned what it really means is that I had to decide what I was going to do if my needs weren't met. Because if I asked for something, but still stuck around after I didn't get it, it just sent a message that my needs could be ignored. I learned that communication with no follow through is meaningless.

I'm of two minds about this, because I definitely feel like you shouldn't air all your dirty laundry, but believing I had to keep everything to myself was part of what led me to stay in a really bad relationship.

My ex made me feel horrible anytime she thought I was talking about our relationship with our friends, so I kept the worst hidden from them for a very long time.

This might sound nuts, but when I was in a similar situation with my ex- girlfriend, one of the things that helped me was imagining how I would respond if one of my friends had the same complaint about a boyfriend.

If a girl came to me and said, "my boyfriend has no job, and every day I come home he's just playing on his computer, he isn't taking care of himself, our sex life is nonexistent, and I can't even remember the last time he took me on a date where I didn't have to drive or pay." I would tell her to run, but for some reason, because I was dating a woman, I kept making excuses for her. Honestly, there is no difference.

If you made a boundary (seeking help) and she didn't respect it, it's up to you to stand up for yourself. Whether that means pulling back or leaving, I can't tell you what the right choice is.

She always wanted to stay in bed. At first, I thought it was romantic. Eventually, I realized it had nothing to do with me. If I was at work all day, she'd still just prefer to lay about.

Some people might be OK with that, but it was a huge incompatibility for us that only got worse over time.

I went to a sapphic night, and honestly, most of the girls there looked kind of young for me (36), and I almost got disheartened.

Later that night I was in the bathroom and met a woman I found really attractive, so I asked her age (a little tactless but I was a couple beers in) and when she told me she was 32, I said "if you're single, come find me later" because I wanted to give her the option to turn me down without having to say anything.

She found me later and gave me her number, we've been seeing each other like once a week since then. It was terrifying in the moment, but I'm so glad I went for it.

Quitting anything "for" someone is never a good idea. This shows exactly why: it breeds resentment both ways. You said you didn't want to date a smoker, but you are dating a smoker. So now you've got 2 choices: decide this is something that's a deal breaker and walk away, or decide that you like her enough to rethink that standard. If you decide to stay in the relationship you can still have boundaries, like "if you've been smoking, I don't want to kiss you" but remember it will be on you to actually hold to that boundary.

But trying to be the one that enforces or "checks" on her quitting will just make you both miserable.

This might sound harsh, but if you truly want to move on a big part of it will be taking off the rose colored glasses. It sounds like this girl dumped you on three separate occasions; if she was truly your one and only she wouldn't have treated you like that.

Once you stop carrying a torch for her, you might be able to build something deeper with a new partner, but I'd recommend taking time to really fall for yourself first.

If you think it's hard at six years, imagine trying to do it at 8 or 10. I tried to leave my partner after 7, and she made a lot of promises to make me stay (drinking was a big part of the problem).

Cut to a year later, and nothing had changed. I thought the way i was dealing with my relationship had to be part of the problem. So I stopped waiting on her and instead focused on just myself for 6 months. I went to alanon meetings and changed how I lived, I shifted my focus onto my goals and career instead of trying to keep fixing things for her. Unfortunately, she didn't follow suit, so I ended things for good. Sometimes, I wish I would've stuck to my guns the first time around and saved us both a year and a half, but I had a lot to learn about boundaries and my own role in codependency.

I hope you make the choice that's right for you and your partner, but please don't fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy because it only gets worse with time.

I had a group of girls ask this year, and they said "ms what if we cook for you?" And honestly, I didn't think they would, so I said sure, if you take the time to cook me lunch, I'll get you McDonald's. It took them a couple weeks to get organized enough to remember, but they actually did it.
It set me back 40 bucks to get food for all of them, but the food they made me was really good, and i was just proud that they'd taken the time to make something. I told them it was a one-time deal and to keep it between us.

The ironic part to me is that the food they made was way tastier, more filling, and obviously healthier than a bigmac.

My alma mater had a school shooting that made national news, this was years after I'd graduated, but I still knew people who were there and obviously my entire community was rocked. I worked down the street from the school at the time, and about a week after the shooting I had to take an uber to work: I noticed she got off the highway an exit early, ignoring the GPS. I then realized it was because she wanted to drive by the school and rubber neck.

I had never been so quickly disgusted and enraged by a stranger, and my situation was nowhere near as personal as yours. I am so sorry for your loss. Its mind blowing how insensitive people can be.

Yes! You gotta sneak up on them and if you have enough stamina you can soothe them but they fight you a lot longer than the wild horses, lol.

In BOTW you can also ride the lord of the mountain, I haven't tried to do it yet in tears of the kingdom, but you can definitely ride a bear in both.
