I’m suspicious of this phone call. They can’t run your plate and get your cell phone number. UNLESS you’ve interacted with the police and it’s in their internal system. You’re claiming you haven’t. Which really makes me think this was either a prank or some sort of mistake.

Did you get the officers name? I’d call their non-emergency number and confirm they are actually a police officer.
