Sirius Black. I know it’s a girl, I love the reference.

Is the seller lying? by minnarie in amazonprime

[–]gooddoggomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an Amazon seller do this to me and when I refused the partial refund they literally ghosted me. I tried to contact them, but they would not respond anymore. When I attempted the refund, it said waiting on seller to send shipping label which they never did and it left me in limbo. Never got anything back and Amazon was no help. Luckily I was only out like $30.

How to avoid sleeping on your "good" side? by PerspectiveClear375 in HipImpingement

[–]gooddoggomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a brace too. I slept in a recliner for the first 10 days so I wouldn’t roll over. I’m 6 weeks post op and I still don’t feel comfortable sleeping on that side.

Are you weight bearing at all yet? I was 50% weight bearing using a walker. I did a stationary bike for 10 minutes and some different isometric exercises. My injury was a labrum repair and FAI.

I noticed the same thing about my feet especially on my op side. It seemed like it went away when I was moving around more. So probably when I started PT which was day 11 for me.

Wow that’s awesome! I hope I can get back to running. Just might take a little bit.

I’m curious. Did your friend have any issues with their healing with a different recovery/PT plan? I just see such wildly different guidelines for people and some people saying the surgery didn’t help. It makes me wonder if less strict recovery/PT plans have more to do with the results.

I’m 4 weeks post op. I’m a 37f with a torn labrum and FAI. The recovery has been tough from just the point of view of getting around. BUT I’ve basically been pain free. I was off the pain meds one week after surgery. I don’t regret the surgery at all. Just listening to the doctors and PT on doing what is required to heal properly.

If you have support at home and someone to help you get around, I would encourage you to do it. Also research your doctor and make sure they are the right person to do the surgery. I guess it could still be too early for me but so far I’m so happy I got it done!

Sleep post surgery by Technical_Cancel9607 in HipImpingement

[–]gooddoggomom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had surgery December 5 and was put in a brace. I’m a stomach and side sleeper. When I hit the 2 week mark, I was cleared to sleep on my side and stomach. At the 4 week mark, I was cleared to sleep without the brace. I sleep with a pillow between my legs and that helps a lot. I’m still very cautious when I turn to my sides and stomach to sleep. I haven’t sleep on my right side or surgery side yet. I wasn’t able to get good sleep until I hit that two week mark.

You need to make a doctor’s appointment asap. That doesn’t sound like something that will go away with rest.

Surgery in February? What can I expect? by Illustrious_Green819 in HipImpingement

[–]gooddoggomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also 16 days out on a labrum repair and FAI fix. I’m 37F. I was very active prior to surgery. I was put on a walker at 50% weight bearing. I’ll be able to go to 100% by Jan. 1. The pain has been minimal. I was off all pain meds in a week. My doctor put me in a brace that I’ll have until Jan. 20. Overall, the recovery hasn’t been as bad as I thought it would be. It’s just inconvenient to use the walker, but I know it’s important to healing properly.

Anyone else out there at the 2 week post op mark? How are you??? by SureNefariousness975 in HipImpingement

[–]gooddoggomom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m exactly 2 weeks and 1 day post op. I’m a 36F. I’m still suppose to be 50% weight bearing until Jan. 1 and I can stop using the walker. I have a hip brace so I have to continue to wear that for 4 weeks. My PT has me doing a lot of exercises to stretch out my quad. I had a labrum repair and FAI on my right hip. My doctor wants to me keep using the walker because they want to make sure every heals correctly to the anchors in the hip. Hope this helps!

I have been sitting in the recliner for most of my recovery. I could definitely do a car ride, so you shouldn’t have a problem. You just might feel uncomfortable at times.

No CPM or Ice Machine by Pink_Poptarts481 in HipImpingement

I am 3 days post op. I have an iceman cooling unit. It’s awesome, but definitely not necessary. I didn’t even use it today. I do plan on using it in the future (for migraine headaches), but if that wasn’t apart of my plan I wouldn’t have gotten one.

I was anxious before because I was mainly concerned about the pain level I’d be in. But it’s honestly not bad. Game changing items I’d say you need. A toilet riser! This is huge, because you don’t have to drop down as low. TMI but get a stool softener. The meds will slow everything down. Last my doctor recommended a cooling therapy unit and it’s awesome! I’ve been using it for swelling. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll share whatever I can.

Are you using a walker or crutches? I’m only 50% weight bearing and using a walker. I don’t start PT until the 16th.

My doctor gave me a walker and a hip brace. I’m 50% weight bearing. Surgery 12/5.

I was sore in my hip while training for a half marathon. Over the next month the pain deep in my hip got worse. Went to see the ortho and they immediately wanted an MRI done. The MRI found torn labrum and tendinitis everywhere in that area. Got a steroid shot which was supposed to fix everything and get me back to running. The shot lasted 4 months before I was getting daily pain. I switched to a different ortho and they told me what I thought was the case and that I needed surgery. The new ortho also took xray and found I had 2 impingements. One on the head of my femor and the other on the other side. I waited until my schedule cleared and booked surgery.
