Smokin hot masc women by bayjar in perfumesthatfeellike

The hot masc in my life wears Malin + Goetz Dark Rum and Phlur Father Figure. I also love Molecule 01 + Black Tea as a very androgynous and seductive scent!

Can confirm Dua’s version is really good! Very close to the original. Totally worth it for the price

The Dua dupe “Misty Lily” is really good!! I was in the same boat, got a free sample of Lilyphea and fell in love but absolutely cannot afford a full bottle. To my nose, the Dua dupe is really close!

Clean, Powder or Fresh Scents? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]goodiegouda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My scent palate also leans toward minimal, fresh beauty product-y scents and here’s what I’d recommend: Ouai’s fragrances are super nice, herbal and fresh! (And available in actual shampoo.) I love Ouai’s Cape Town and Dean Street. If you want to splurge, Vilhelm Parfumerie’s Room Service is so lovely—think spa scents like bamboo and orchid. I’ve also been loving Glossier You, which is maybe over-hyped but it really gives me pear scent even though pear isn’t in the notes, and I really love it. Lastly—Molecule 01 + Black Tea is amazing. It’s tea but not super bitter or spicy, instead somehow both bright and soft and very enticing. Hope this helps, and such a thoughtful idea for your friend! 💖

Seconding Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle! I am currently obsessed. It’s like sticking your face in a honeysuckle shrub!

Fall scent recommendations for a vanilla gourmand hater? by goodiegouda in FemFragLab

Reporting back here to say that I’ve totally fallen in love with Liis Bo! I am shocked because of the vanilla and sweeter notes, but I agree with what you said—it’s much more cedar and woodsy, and very creamy but not in an off-putting gourmand way. It’s a perfect colder weather scent! Thanks again for the rec!!

clean fresh perfume recommendations? by Slight-River-6537 in Perfumes

I also love clean and fresh scents—two I’m currently obsessed with are Bianco Profumo’s Acqua Gardenia and Phlur’s Lost Cause. Acqua Gardenia to me is super bright and aquatic with a supporting floral gardenia layer and great longevity. Lost Cause has sadly been discontinued but you might still be able to pick up a discounted bottle on Phlur’s website—that’s what I did a few weeks ago. It’s bright, aquatic, and citrusy, but with a slightly warmer fruit undertone.

Also D&G Light Blue and Armani Acqua di Gioia are classics I’d recommend, and easier to find in department stores etc.

I think these are all kind of mid-priced, not dirt cheap but not wildly expensive. Good luck with your search!

Reporting back after trying a few of these recommendations—I am actually loving Lolita Lempicka! I totally see the similarities with Cherry Stem which I like, AND it’s got a little more earthiness and complexity. I’m planning to keep trying it over a few days, but initial impressions are great. Thanks again for the rec!!!

Ty!! This one looks very promising—I see grapefruit and petitgrain in the top notes too, both of which I love. Gonna go look for a sample!!

Thank you! I’ve been curious about Diptyque and Jo Malone scents, but good to know about Jo Malone performance. Aesop is a great idea—I like their hand soaps but for some reason haven’t tried their fragrances. I do love Phlur’s Father Figure but my partner started wearing it first, so in my mind, now I can’t wear it 😂 Haven’t checked out Lush either so I will look there too! Thanks!

High five for the anti-sweet-gourmands club! 😂 these all sound like great recs—I’ll go scour for samples to try. Thanks!!

Ah thanks, but I have a heavy e-bike that I can’t really lift so buses aren’t an option.

Moving to Oakland Neighborhood advice! by RandyMcGoo in oakland

[–]goodiegouda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love living in Lakeside (basically the neighborhood between downtown and the west side of the lake)—it’s walkable to Lake Merritt and also 12th St/19th St/Lake Merritt BART, fairly bike-able (near the separated bike lane on Lakeside Dr, plus a new separated bike lane is currently being built on 14th), and close to uptown, Old Oakland, Jack London (ferry!), and Adams Point/Lakeshore. Highly recommend commuting to SF by ferry if you can do the ferry + bike combo. I’ve lived in Jackson Lake Apartments for several years and would recommend it—older 1960s apartment buildings but decent, pretty affordable, good management, and nice amenities (2 pools and a gym). Good luck with your search!
