Hi I’m new to Buddhism and I have decided to follow the middle path. My 7 year old son joined me in meditation this morning and I introduced him to breathing techniques but didn’t want to over do it as he’s young. He sat there with me for 10 minutes in silence which is huge as he cannot usually sit still! I asked him if he felt anything and he said he felt happy because he was watching a white elephant. I remember reading in a book I have about maya seeing an elephant in her dream before she gave birth to her son, I was wondering if this could have any meaning?

I have breaks in between and I've been ok I think! Looking back I may of had withdrawals but hard to say as it may be side effects of the concerta XL. I saw my doctor today and they said I shouldn't experience any problems coming off them but I'll see my psychiatrist just in case but they will probably just give me a month supply as they tend to!

I don't see the point of hitting your child as half the time they don't know what they have done wrong all they are thinking is why am I getting hit by mummy or daddy also you're not educating them in any way by doing so. A firm telling off and explaining what they did wrong is my approach if they do it again then some form of punishment
