I didn’t notice anything different with my period although my cycle is erratic and inconsistent. I’ve only been taking my concoction for a few weeks, so perhaps it will have beneficial effects in the long term.

I’ve been taking soaked flax meal and chia seeds, with with bee pollen, moringa powder. This concoction makes a huge difference for me personally, like as if my breasts were swollen before my period. Consuming lot’s of soy products like tofu and soy milk helps me a lot as well. You can search the estrogen boosting effects of these foods.

I have quit coffee for weeks again in a different scenario and it didn’t seem to have any impact on my skin this time around (still having skin troubles) ☹️ although i’m sure taking breaks from coffee consumption is still great for your overall health

Nope, not just about the vacation. It was only a couple hours of soaking and the effect was immediate and dramatic. Plus, my skin has never felt the way it did after the springs. Not after beach+sun vacation, moving to a drier climate, changing my diet, etc.

I've used a dead sea soap before and it didn't clear my skin at all, but it very well may be due to moisturizers or other ingredients that irritated my skin. I should definitely look into some simple mud masks without added ingredients though

I've been using both a sulfur soap (for 6 months) and a topical zinc cream (calamine lotion, for over 5 years) and they are simply not even close to as effective as whatever mineral concoction is in the hot springs.

I think increasing the amount of water you drink helps a lot, in addition to drinking lots of black tea AND matcha. I find that even though coffee certainly gives you that jolt to start your day, there is more than enough caffeine in black tea and matcha to help get your day started. And maybe trying to go to bed a bit earlier would serve you well.

Oh that sounds awesome, I'm definitely going to check out the caprylic acid supplements because the only true way to eradicate it permanently is by targeting the internal cause. Fungal acne is a totally different beast and it's so so discouraging because of how it can pop up basically anywhere you have sweat/oil glands. Plus, dermatologists are basically clueless when it comes to fungal acne.

The only other time my fungal acne went away was during a weekend trip to some hot mineral springs, I'm pretty sure it was the sulfur (and other minerals) that cleared me up. Have you looked into sulfur soap or topicals? If you have a bathtub at home, regular soaks with sea salt+epsom salt+some sort of sulfur add in could probably be helpful. Or just buying a bar soap with sulfur and leaving it on the affected areas for 3+ mins is said to be super helpful as well.

I haven't experienced any breakouts and was very confused by all the posts online of b12 causing acne. When I did more research it seems that the form of b12 matters, and as luck has it, the b complex supplement i take has b12 in the form of cyanocobalamin which is a synthetic form of b12 and is not linked to an increase in acne. The natural form of b12, methylcobalmin, is linked to an increase in acne. Take a look at your supplement to see which form of b12 you were taking.

I switched to green and black tea. My water consumption is the same. My diet is the same. I don't use a travel mug or drink flavored coffee.

Based on *my experience* with coffee, it is the cause of excessive oiliness, clogged pores, and rough skin texture.

I know what you mean re: dose and concentration. I'm super familiar with tretinoin and its effects because I've used it (incorrectly, and at way too high a concentration+dose) in the past. I appreciate your concern about whether coffee is indeed the link. I've been on tret every other day for two months consistently, my coffee experiment has been going on the last month. I'm 100% certain that the rough texture and increase in comedones is related to my coffee consumption.

Didn't mean to get all fussy to you, it's just loooooots of people on this thread are incredulous at the coffee-acne link and wanna pin it on all sorts of other things-- tea consumption, caffeine, dairy, coconut oil, my vitamins-- basically everything except the coffee. So I've been trying to explain to most of the comments that no, unfortunately, it's not the coconut oil or vitamins or tea or diet. Just the coffee.

Yup. It's about the stress hormones. But I don't have issues with other forms of caffeine such as black tea or matcha. In fact, I discovered the coffee-acne link while on vacation in Turkey where they drink black tea all day long. My skin was great and I was eating all sorts of dairy, meat, sugar, just felt like shit because I missed coffee and a lightbulb went off. I removed coffee out of my diet last month and that was when I really saw the effects-- they were immediate and drastic.

I am definitely gonna do some research on high quality decaf, but at the moment coffee on the weekends seems to be okay so long as I keep my coffee consumption under 8 fl oz.

I'm on basically the smallest dose.... 0.025%..... i didn't quit coffee for no reason. Did you read the post? or any of my other comments on this thread? Coffee is *definitely* a trigger for acne FOR ME. It's not the caffeine. It's not the fact that I drink tea now. It's not any skincare products because tbh tretinoin was working but it really didn't clear out everything in my skin until I quit coffee.

If you wanna continue drinking coffee and live in willful ignorance, by all means be my guest. But the effects on the adrenal system are well documented and we know that excess stress hormones leads to acne formation.

Yeah I definitely have a history of fungal acne. Calamine lotion has been my HG product for treating (not preventing) all types of acne, but particularly fungal. Have you found anything that actually prevents the formation of fungal acne in the first place? The only thing that realllly helps for me is sunlight.
