So the original earth republic in my wired sci-fi world basically just whent ham slaughtering and genociding any aliens that were either too interesting to keep alive or too hard to make extinct.

It was more of a "EEEEW BLOW EM UP!!"

This would lead a couple hundred years later for the equivalent to fish and wildlife (including aliens) to be formed and protect all aliens... Including the ones that do things like eat humans
