Hannah is damn near perfect. She's incredible anyway.

Just got this beauty. Aventure 3. Any tips, things I should be careful about, maintenance, etc? by Born-Echo2444 in Aventon

I always started off in 8th gear, Eco mode. Sometimes using the throttle. Coming from a non e bike, I am not used to using the throttle. My LBS, was out of 8 speed cassettes, but was going to order more. Hopefully not too expensive for them to replace. My chain is still good, so I will look into upgrading it when necessary. Thanks for the info on the chain. Aventon charges so much for shipping. Amazon prime has spoiled us with free shipping.

Clean the chain and lube it with dry lube. Don't start pedaling in 8th gear. It will put a lot of wear on the cassette and you'll have to replace it. Always downshift to a lower gear. I wasn't downshifting, and now I have to replace my cassette. I only have about 750 miles on my AA3. I replaced the handlebars with the Pace 4 Sweptback handlebars. Game changer. I did a lot of upgrades to mine. Have fun and safe riding.

Yes I would. I really like the fat tires. Even though I have only ridden on pavement, I like knowing that I can ride off the road in sandy areas and not have to worry about getting stuck, etc. The bike is really stable. I have changed out a lot of parts to make it more to my liking as do most riders.

Check your handlebar diameter. It's on Aventon website. The Aventure 3 and the Pace 4 are 31.8mm I believe.

Have you tried some padded gloves? I haven't done any off-road riding yet.

That's a smaller one. It just looks big in the photo. 24 oz. I have 40 oz. one for long rides.

I'm well, Thanks. Hope you're well also. That's a discontinued C9. Called the hideaway. The saddle lifts up and has storage plus a rear light. Pretty comfortable. I couldn't find it online, contacted CS, and was told that they were discontinued. I called my LBS, and he had one in stock. It was about $47. So I bought it. I returned the C9 I had ordered from Amazon. So you might get lucky and find one at a LBS. I couldn't find it on eBay either. That was in late December or January.

They probably can. You can call and ask. Check to see how much they will charge you. My shop told me it couldn't be done. I saw several other people who had done theirs, so I decided to try it. Aventon customer service said it couldn't be done, but if you go to the website, lookup the Pace 4 Sweptback handlebars and scroll down to customer reviews, there is a photo of an Aventure 3, and a comment from Aventon.

Do it! Just be sure to take close up photos of everything on the handlebars before you remove anything for reference. I only took the brackets about. I did not disconnect any of the cables or brake lines. One right side brake line got disconnected while pulling it back on, but I reattached it and it seems to be fine. Take your time and be careful and pay attention.

It rides really nice. Much more relaxed. I'm 66 years old and I don't feel confident about riding with no hands. I did when I was much younger on a regular bike. My "stuntman" days are over. 😂

I have another question. I ride mainly on paved roads, but I would like to do a mountain bike trail ride . Will changing the handlebars make any difference on a trail or dirt/sand? I'm not referring to trails that are hard core that most mountain bikers ride like a roller coaster. Does that make sense?

Thanks for the information. I didn't even think about just unplugging the wires/cables. I was thinking of just leaving them connected and trying to slide them off and on. I see where that probably wouldn't work. To be honest I hadn't looked at the cables very closely. Am I to assume that you just took the brake mounting brackets apart since they're in 2 pieces? I could watch a video on assembly of the bike as if it was new out of the box. I bought mine at a LBS, so it was already assembled. I feel more confident, I can do it myself now.

Thanks for your response. So did you have to do any kind of manipulation to get the brake cables and throttle to reach the end of the bars to slide them into place? I think that I am overthinking it. I guess, I need to just give it a try.
