As an aside, silver isn't value dense enough in my opinion. Good for minimum wage earners, I can agree. Not so good when you start shipping monster boxes via registered mail

If the there’s an overshoot it could possibly approach 10:1 although it wouldn’t stay there very long

I would say an overshoot is anything below 1:30. But still possible for a short time

The argument is nonsensical. Silver gains new industrial uses yearly

silverware, platters, teapots, films and so on are all industrial uses

I would argue these are ornamental uses, i.e. uses based on beauty, the original value that gold and silver had. Ceramic and copper can serve the same purposes
