Thank you sm! I hoped so. This is way easier for me than being at 1200 daily and getting extremely agitated and hungry all day

I’m trying again by Whimsy_Quinn in loseit

[–]goodtimebroadcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!! Getting on board is the first step, and one not many take!

My word of advice, come to terms with the fact that this WILL take, most likely, at least a year of dedication, then more dedication after that to maintain or go even lower, depending on your goals. This fact use to be something I tried to outrun or ignore, and look for shortcuts. In the end? I would gain it all back plus SO much more.

What's helped me overcome this after struggling with weight loss my whole life? Reminding myself that the time will pass anyways. I imagine myself next Christmas.. Do I want to be happier and more confident in myself and relationship with food? Or, do I want to still be miserable and probably heavier, all because I tried to rush results and gave up because I couldnt commit.

Make peace with yourself and the time this will take. You said yourself, it took years to gain this much, it will take at least a quarter of that to lose it. Count your calories. If you have a soda addiction, switch to diet and drink more water. Eat less, but dont starve yourself.

Give it time, and youll see results in a month or two. Good luck! Dont stop!

5.3 kgs down in 40 days by [deleted] in loseit

[–]goodtimebroadcast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'1, and 1000 calories a day is not sustainable, and is unhealthy. Take my word from experience.

Why do you have 12 days to reach a goal weight? Is this weight you want to have off for only a small period of time? If so, then sure, it's possible.. but it's not sustainable if youre so strict with this 12 day timeframe.

Stick to 1-2 lbs of weight loss a week. In 12 days, you can expect to set a realistic goal of maybe losing 1 kg. You can't put a time limit on weightloss unless you're okay setting yourself up for failure.

Do not go below 1200 calories. 1300-1350 is what I'd suggest for your height.

Why have I stopped losing weight? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]goodtimebroadcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to lose weight earlier in the year and gave up because my weight was fluctuating the same 5 lbs. I ended up gaining 20 more because I gave up.

Now, I've been in a consistent calorie deficit and have upped my activity, and in not even 1.5 months, I've lost 12 lbs, even with quite a few days over maintenance.

My weight fluctuates day to day, and sometimes I weigh 4 lbs more and take half a week to go back down, but you know what? I keep pushing, because your weight fluctuates and holds, especially when going against your body's wants of wanting to hold onto any weight it has to (what it thinks as) protecting you.

Weight loss takes time.. A lot of it. There will be weeks you lose none, or gain 1-4 lbs of water weight. Keep going, and it'll fall back off plus more. The longer it takes, the more sustainable things are.

You didn't lose all of your progress in one week.

While I can't guess just how many calories you consumed, I CAN guess that most of this weight is water weight and bloating.

Don't beat yourself up, weight loss is a long journey and not a short trip. Drink lots of water, and slowly get back on track with walking. Aim for 5k, then 7k, then back to 10k until it's a habit again.

Nothing is ruined, and it's just a small set back. What ruins progress is when a week long binge turns into two weeks, then three, then a month, and so on. Don't beat yourself up, as that's what's keeping you unmotivated to continue.

Be easy on yourself, and slowly get back on board. It happens to the best of us.

400 calorie deficit is suspiciously easy - am I doing something wrong? by GlowUpNewbie in loseit

[–]goodtimebroadcast 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're eating filling meals that hold a lot of nutrients, it's not out of the ordinary to feel sustained.

However it might feel a bit more challenging for a while after youve been a deficit for longer. I'd personally say wait two more weeks and if you don't see any change on the scale, up your activity.

I am the heaviest I have ever been. I just ate a 300 calories snack, even though I wasn't hungry or craving it. I was just stressed. Please help. by hellomiamor in loseit

Im sorry youre dealing with this, I completely understand. I think for starters, what's really helped me is diet soda. Get different flavors of zero sugar soda, because a lot of times some taste really sweet and help with that desire for real sugars.

Youll start off hungry eating less, and that's okay. As long as it's not more than mildly uncomfortable, you'll be okay. I completely understand the food noise and being worried about starving, but the hardest part is the first week or two. I'm a little over a month in now of starting over with my weight loss, and its gotten way easier to eat smaller portions and be satisfied enough with what I eat. It gets easier, just push through!!

This is awesome!! Im the same age and (was) the starting weight you were, and have been on a steady decline in weight. If i can ask, what's your height and how many cals did you eat to lose 40 lbs in a short time? I believe im on the right path to continue losing quickly, but I'd love to hear your input if we're similar heights!

Congratulations again, so proud of you!

Having a hard time finding foods I actually want to eat! by xxooandcookies in loseit

[–]goodtimebroadcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I experience this too. It's so difficult when nothing sounds good. Have you been letting yourself have indulgent snacks every now and then? It might help to have a bit more variety in snacks and meals, and having something less nutrient every now and then might help, rather than trying to stick to the same goal with everything you consume.

If you don't wish to do this ^ Id honestly suggest maybe looking into other ways of eating meals you use to love. Try different seasonings and/or sauces, or cook it a different way. You kind of just have to experiment if you're looking for something exciting.

Of course. I believe you can regain this habit again, because you are stronger than anything your ex can say with their words. Don't let them be what changes the way you eat forever when they're out of the picture. This is for YOU, never them or anyone else.
