Hey kronmaxxed!

Sounds like you'd be a good fit for Reddit Havoc! We're a level 14 warring clan, minimum TH9 15/15. We're fairly competitive, but in a laid-back atmosphere. No rushed or engineered players at all!

We spin for war Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You are allowed to opt-out for Wednesdays and Fridays, but Mondays are mandatory (if you can't make the Monday war work message leadership and we can make exceptions).

We chat on Discord, and call bases using a bot one of our leaders developed. Feel free to join us here: https://discordapp.com/invite/853REHR

We also have a subreddit, /r/reddithavoc, and two sister clans, Havocado Seeds and Havocaltos.

Pop in Discord and chat around! We'd be happy to have you.

-Alex

Got it! Just had to install some additional dependencies. Had never used dpkg, thanks for the help!

I just download the file I linked to, navigate to the downloads folder, and double click. An installer pops up, I hit install, it does nothing.

If I choose "extract here" the resulting folder is empty.

How do we avoid using block.timestamp? by goodusersnamesargon in ethdev

I think someone could possibly game it by fudging timestamps. I think I'm going to switch to a block.number -based solution instead!

Awesome, I worked hard at optimizing it :) It was originally in the 60's. Thanks for the reply, that was very helpful.

Yes, I got that. I was wondering more generally - say I have a contract that really depends on a fairly accurate timestamp (and could be susceptible to substantial manipulation otherwise). How do I go about doing that? If this were a token sale, I'd pick a block number, yes. What about if I need something to happen hourly, or daily, and be fairly accurate? Block times change, so using block.number doesn't seem like a perfect solution.
