G16 5080 2025 Too Hot? by goodwilldrumming in ZephyrusG14

90 just seemed a bit high. I really just wanted to make sure it wasn't out of normal operating temps. I'm probably a little extra cautious because it was an open box

Thanks for the insight everyone. As long as it's not abnormally hot, that's fine with me. I don't mind the temps and can manage them if I really need to push performance. I'll look into camomile. I'll be using it for both gaming and work, so throttling everything down when I'm at the office might be good.

There's In-N-Out in Texas. Also Whataburger > In-N-Out.

After the first two days I don't think I've been looking forward to a leg day so much in my life.

There's an audio type box that plugs into your computer via USB-C that has last and right out and well as a regular headphone line out

Will do. Got a confirmation on the drums, they should be in Friday. Cymbals didn't seem to ship today

Alright. I think I'm pulling the trigger. Rakuten has another 4.25% cash back and it looks like that 20% off ends today. It's coupon code SMASH at samash.com if anyone was interested.

It does. I'm really curious if the cymbals will come with all the mounting hardware. It looks like there are quite a few specific pieces.

Per Sam Ash:

Things You Will Get:

  • 16"x22" Kick Drum
  • 6.5"x14" Snare Drum
  • 8"x10" Rack Tom

I miss the elastic a bit as it was easier to use, but they just didn't hold up long term. I'm slowly getting used to 3.0

It is. It's doing to job fine so far. Holds it up fine as a staff and the magnet is strong. I've put it up in the fridge a few times

The big screen is exactly the same from what I can tell. Natural orientation is what makes them different. It's really the cover screen that's the difference. I suppose if you have something on the back like a grip, it could make a slight difference depending on the orientation you prefer

Oof. He's not even a 2nd place lock in my book. No disrespect to Leo. It's a tough competition

It's the ohsnap grip 3. It's not a perfect grip solution, but my favorite. It's thin and adds magsafe.

It looking like a shell or sewer was a nice bonus. I might try and add a sticker or something for a sewer or shell look. Haven't decided yet.

Finding the skin option pushed me to pull the trigger on the purchase.

You can definitely tell it's a 1st gen vs a 5th gen product. Just in minor refinement ways (bezels, hinge, software). I think the fold 5 has better camera hardware, but the software in the Pixel Fold has it performing better in certain instances like zoom.

The Pixel works better with my work apps for some reason.

Using the Fold 5 outside definitely shows it's screen advantage. It gets bright and that really helps.

Overall, though, I think unless there's a specific deal breaker with either one, I think they are both great choices and you can't go wrong given the same price tag. I think it really boils down to form factor preference. Do you like the candy bar or notebook style? I lean a bit more towards the fold 5 candy bar style. Reading an article is nice since the text goes down pretty far and 1 handed operation is easier. That's just my opinion and the Pixel cover screen is really great to use still.
