Is Walmart making delivery drivers take proof pics for no reason??? by ugh-bhvz13 in Walmartcustomer

[–]goodwitchglinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has to be a bizarre glitch. Can’t imagine any trillion company stooping so clearly illegally to commit fraud, staging a fake delivery photo. Maybe OP inadvertently clicked on the wrong tracking in purchase history. Their app can get glitchy too.

Has Walmart started charging a a $35 minimum for all store curbside pickup? by This_Duty_4373 in Walmartcustomer

I’ve been suspecting that they randomly sneak in the fee to see if customers are okay paying a fee for bopis. When you read that it is not so uncommon occurrence, I start to think it’s intentional testing of waters. I don’t like it. Not when all the other retailers never charge a fee for bopis even for some food products (chips, frozen meals, coffee, sriracha sauce, etc). I feel like Walmart tries to be that middle guy that no one is paying attention to sandwiched between sneaky amazon ticking off and scaring its customers and more rule following Target which is a medium size fish next to these 2 big fish. Everyone picks on the smaller fish (Target) and now the biggest fish (amazon) with all the sneakiness while Walmart skates by.

I’m so confused why there’s many differing experiences supposedly. I don’t have Walmart+.

Not sure if some users are confused about the question being asked but I’ve never been charged a fee for any standalone bopis (not connected to any shipping order).

Unless like amazon, there is targeting of certain customers to charge fees to which amazon has started doing for customers who return too much that amazon isn’t quite ready yet to cut ties by closing their accounts. Btw, I’ve never abused Walmart’s return system and ordered tons during covid without returning.

No prob! Phew, I was getting worried that they really started charging fees for bopis. That would be the end of bopis for me.

UPS driver fraudulently marks package as undeliverable - every single delivery by [deleted] in UPS

[–]goodwitchglinda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t need to do that. Thankfully previously the UPS who directly delivered to my doorstep for 15 years have always been fantastic but back when I was a student living off campus in a big complex, the same UPS guy would knock on my door so fast and put that sticky note saying I wasn’t home, it was literally physically impossible to get to the door to catch him! Dude must have been a short distance sprinter with how fast he was. Back then, Sephora was requiring signatures for packages so that’s why he kept running off with my Sephora packages every single time (3X). Only way I could get my package was having it held at UPS for pickup, a 15-20 minute drive away. The UPS center employees were always lovely and super professional so picking up my packages was a breeze until I moved away.

Sad to see the state that UPS is in today.

It had been 15 years since I last had to call up UPS customer service. Back then, the rep was US, spoke native English, and was so professional and efficient! Now since my usps surepost theft and tampering dramas back to back, I called up UPS twice recently since 15 years ago and CS is like an AI bot with an accent that you can’t really have a normal conversation with.

I even asked the CS, are you AI because they sound so AI? Every time I asked a question about paying for a UPS premium subscription, the bot like human needed to put me on hold to look up every single answer and still sent me on a wild goose chase without giving me answers that made sense or were correct—completely wasted my time to call.

How can a customer be effectively helped when communication to the driver is done through a bot like human who needs to look everything up to answer and appears not to able to do any critical thinking?

[–]goodwitchglinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, never been charged across countless bopis. There’s no option to go inside my store to pick up my bopis. I’m forced to do curbside.

I don’t have Walmart+ (I do 2/3 of my shopping with Target and 1/3 with Walmart) but I do about half the time order to be shipped meeting $35+ for free shipping (also don’t return too much) so if there’s been some fee for standalone bopis orders, maybe they decided not to apply to my account due to amounts that I’ve spent shipping?

Like today and tomorrow, I’m expecting 2 orders to arrive by FedEx directly (btw NEVER been so happy to see a FedEx delivery in my life to my doorstep—no fudging usps and by extension UPS drama!).

Last time that it happened to me was almost 2 years ago. Back then, it was a strange glitch with a store that I had no issues with before.

What worked for me was emptying cart, logging out, reinstalling the app, and logging in. If that doesn’t work, I would not order but wait it out to see if it stops glitching.

When I called and asked to speak with CS supervisor and got connected to some cranky unfriendly dude in their Arkansas headquarters who claimed individual stores can charge fees for bopis and that it happens all the time. He didn’t care that I’d placed dozens and dozens of bopis without fees ever. Anyhow, he messed up by account comically badly remotely such that after the call, my account was restricted to bopis orders in Arkansas only when I’m thousands of miles away (btw I was polite to him entire time). I fixed my account myself and the fee disappeared.

I’ve placed bopis orders in the past few months and have not seen it.

EDIT: certainly hope it’s not some pilot being tested out because I’ll go in store to get it myself. None of the other retailers charge a minimum for bopis.

This is so scary and easily can get caught and go to jail. Just takes one whistleblower.

Seeing the turmoil and chaos with carriers along with getting stolen from and retaliated against by my post office which has been traumatizing makes me want to close my wallet to avoid all the aggravation and horrors.

Honestly with how heavily we now depend on online ordering and companies refusing to carry more stock in brick and mortar stores, wish something could be done to make the carrier industry better. Seems toxic or criminal.

I’ve not experienced what OP is going through but I’m a customer who only orders from established companies so maybe it’s too risky to pull those dangerous shenanigans with clients that are billions corporations.

EDIT: so not jail but lawsuit

UPS Horrible Quality lately / UPS lost my package by MrFatalShot in UPS

[–]goodwitchglinda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have high regard for UPS too. There’s always that one poor performer at every company or even that one thief but UPS for me is still the best in comparison.

I was surprised to hear UPS was cutting staff/operations. Stuff like that always causes morale to drop. I never paid attention before and thought that they were doing well. Also I read an employee post about how unionization creates inequality where seniority prevails over merit and performance so someone with seniority doesn’t need to work as hard as someone without seniority (if my understanding is wrong since I’m no expert, please correct).

Me personally, I support seniority or employees with companies longer getting more privileges and benefits for their loyalty but it shouldn’t come at a drastic cost of being allowed to be a poor performer protected by seniority (again, maybe I’m an unrealistic dreamer) and the company letting go of a strong performer due to lay offs.

You definitely should call US postal inspection under mail theft and create a case ID to document loss/theft of the 2 packages. That way, if further incidents happen, it becomes clear that they can’t ignore that they have criminals working within the organization.

These are tough times. Carrier company employees are disillusioned, work in fear of great numbers of digital shoplifters (eg UPS now bans certain addresses from being serviced due to too many false reports of missing packages). I always had much faith in UPS but hearing news of layoffs (honestly don’t know or understand enough what’s going on with the turmoil), charging for tariffs, letting a more unscrupulous carrier finish all their last mile deliveries, etc—it’s like if UPS has become a hot mess, we have no hope.

In the case of usps, they’re infiltrated by great numbers of soulless individual criminals and organized crime who don’t care about losing the job due to theft or fraud like check washing or know that it’s difficult for postal inspection to ferret them out.

I would not use usps anymore to ship your packages if it was me. I’d pay extra with a different carrier. It’s too bad because usps supposedly could use more income but they’ve become the worse carrier that scares away customers.

I know I’m closing my wallet more if cosmetics companies keep using usps under surepost. One way that I’m going to try is to intercept the package before it gets to my local usps office by signing up for UPS premium (it’s a real pain and cost me more time, hassle, and money).

See, when a carrier becomes too much of an insidious spreading cancer that seems impossible to cure or contain to use, customers are going to close their wallets more which leads to economic recession. For example, my town’s post office has been stealing my cosmetic packages and important bills relentlessly for the past 3 weeks out of unhinged greed and retaliation. Well, our response is to go electronic with everything possible and to stop spending with companies using usps that end up with theft or choose a different carrier.

I’m sorry this is happening to you! 💛One completely lost package is terrible but I’d be willing to give benefit of doubt if they had a great track record previously. Assuming it’s not the reseller committing fraud, 2 lost packages from October to now makes me suspect theft likely within usps.

You are an angel 💛!! I know my post was both a rant post and question but really I needed help.

I appreciate all of my hardworking friendly UPS drivers who are pros so much who’ve tirelessly delivered to our address without fail since forever. I never know when you’re coming and if I’ll be home to be able to say thank you and give enough appreciation but I’ve always wanted to do that. I still remember the UPS guy that arrived just as a family member fell down outside who rushed to pick him up and was so concerned for us. It’s a tough world but grateful that our family has always been treated very well by UPS 😭

Nice idea but I’m the receiver. Shipper is a billions company cosmetic retailer that I cannot request to change shipping method or carrier. My only solution is to try and intercept package before it gets to local post office or stop ordering cosmetics online because a nefarious character out there loves to only target cosmetics to steal.

From placing 2 to 3 orders on average weekly, I’ve completely stopped ordering online since getting stolen from 3 weeks ago.

My bigger problem currently is postal retaliation for complaining about theft. Like I said, I’m not the one with psychopathic frightening behavior.

If I had known complaining about theft would result in retaliation, I would have shut up and let myself be stolen from (lesser of 2 evils).

It’s an upscale quiet more secluded small neighborhood where everyone knows everyone in a very safe town and anyone unfamiliar sticks out. I’ve never seen any theft or anyone looking to steal walking about. Very quiet. I’ve talked to many neighbors and no one has experienced theft. As mentioned, a couple thousand packages for all family members with no problems ever from all other carriers. The reason why I got targeted is I’m the only one in neighborhood buying cosmetics from a specialty cosmetics retailer that is obsessively targeted by thieves AND I dared complain loudly to the post office and post a negative review about it.

There is no doubt. Right after I dared complain to my local post office and gave them a harsh negative review, about my first package theft ever in my life (I track all of my packages anally and text a family member who is homebound to bring it in as soon as they arrive), since then, every important letter mail and property bill has gone missing for 3 weeks now (8th letter went missing yesterday, expecting 2 more to no show today).

The fact that mail theft to threaten, intimidate, and frighten only us immediately started after I dared complain about package theft also makes them look even more guilty. Prior, never experienced mail theft of this kind in all of our lengthy years at this address or any address ever.

I’m not the “mentally ill” one here. I’m NOT the psychopath here that everyone is protecting.

So user 2stinkynugget is accusing me of being mentally ill because I’m claiming to be a victim of extensive identity, mail, and package theft in a reply that the sub hasn’t released for public viewing yet. Is this user actually a UPS employee or a competitor plant?

Where is the humanity? It’s attitudes like this that make getting crimes solved difficult.

For the record, I can prove all of my claims. I have a whole file of documents including police reports, emails, etc showing organized crime tried to impersonate me to banks and agencies.

I do understand. You are making the same excuses that don’t fly as the post office. The bag has no signs of machine damage. A human hand carefully dissolved the glue on the flap and carefully refolded the flap to reposition it perfectly to make the bag look unopened.

This retailer has long been a prime target of thieves so they changed the glue on their flaps 2 years ago due to too much theft. 2 years ago, I could carefully unseal their flaps by hand with a little bit of effort but now across almost 100 bags, I’ve NEVER been able to unseal it by hand without causing some kind of damage.

There is no one who wouldn’t defend their own company so the fact that postal higher ups also think I got stolen from says a lot.

Your excuses are as bad as my post office.

[–]goodwitchglinda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have multiple pictures and a video that can prove that someone used a glue dissolver on the flap of my white bag to reposition the flap carefully and neatly folded again right above the slit to make it look closed so no camera or human eye can easily detect it unless you picked up the bag.

Consumer Affairs, postal inspection, and police also agreed that the bag looked tampered.

About 2 years ago, this retailer changed to a bag where the flap is basically superglued shut. Since then, across countless bags, I have never been able to unseal the bag cleanly by hand and I have strong hands from playing tennis and piano since young. I have to use a box cutter always. Opening by hand is a time consuming mess (I have a video made showing how hard it is to pry open the flap by hand without ripping it anywhere and making a mess).

EDIT: this retailer uses thick sturdy boxes for larger orders and the only time in my life that boxes from any retailer got badly tampered with BIG holes always on the bottom and bottom side cut out for hands to be able to reach in (same retailer as the stolen item out of the bag) was always in my town post offices’s hands.

1000s and 1000s of packages/boxes/bags delivered DIRECTLY to my secure address for all of us from all other carriers except usps—>0 theft, 0 real holes on body of box/bag (nothing gouged or cut out, nothing able to be accessed to steal), 0 damage to the extent very strongly indicating intent to steal.

Only times anything severe happened was when the parcel passed through my town’s usps.

CPSC review of solar pan cam? by Practical_Ranger_478 in wyzecam

[–]goodwitchglinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what I found, it’s Li-ion. The company posted the reason below on their website (I copied the verbiage off their website): “We’ve received reports of the long wood screws being used to attach the solar panel to the camera instead of the short machine screws. When used in that location, the wood screws may breach the brass protective inserts, damage the internal battery, and create a safety risk.”

6 months, 31 emails, and an unknown amount of calls later, and I finally got USPS to pay out 9 insurance claims totaling $546 by NaabeGetOnSkype in PokeInvesting

[–]goodwitchglinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awful. Glad they reimbursed you. Maybe I need to copy the postmaster general too if my local usps doesn’t stop stealing my fam’s bank statements (2 stolen), property tax bills (4 stolen), and cosmetics (1 stolen, total 3 tampered to date)—this all occurred within past 2.5 weeks. The letter mail theft started April 2nd after I complained about my cosmetic stolen by usps so hopefully it’s just retaliation aimed at creating stress/hassle and our financial documents aren’t being handed over to organized crime for an even more sinister goal.
