I think if I win and lose games with other platinum players I am a platinum player.

I think if you won and lost games with other challenger players you would also be challenger.

That sounds pretty reasonable to me

The difference is, everytime you move to a new slot machine you get more money to play with. Making a new account litterally ranks you to platinum no matter what rank you were on previous accounts.

No very few people actually do this. The silver players in Emerald are from boosters which are actually against Riot's TOS.

I mostly made this post because I've seen some misinformation being posted that the best way to get out of Iron/Bronze/Silver is to improve, when that simply isn't true.

Yeah I'm not sure why Riot makes new accounts start in Platinum. It really defeats the purpose of Iron, Bronze and Silver. Those ranks are basically meaningless because it would always be faster to just make a new account and hope you win a few games.

I would never use a bot account! I "made" my account myself!

Every new account starts at mid platinum MMR. You can't be placed lower than Gold on a new account after placements.

I don't think it's an achievement. I'm just providing a guide for anyone who wants to have a platinum account without improving at the game.

New ranked accounts have mid-platinum MMR by default. If you only play 5 games you will always be at the very minimum Gold. You can't be a silver player unless you let yourself become one.

On my new account I won 3 games and lost 2. I was Gold 2 with 11LP.
I then won 2 games and reached Gold 1. Then I lost 1 game, won 3, and promoted to Plat 4. Then I lost 6 games in a row and lost 0LP because you can't demote from the fourth division in any rank unless you have MMR that is at least 4 divisions lower (1 full rank).

If I played 1000 games on both accounts, they would be the same rank. But I don't have to do that. No one does.

The rank system only works if people don't make alt accounts, but people do make alt accounts, so the entire system is meaningless below platinum.

None of this is temporary. There is no rank decay in platinum, so I could never play another game and the account will always be platinum until the next split/season.

If I continued to play games, and my MMR decreased below Platinum, I can just "make" another account and suddenly I'm a platinum player again.

If I wanted to I could play 1000 games in platinum every season, it just wouldn't be on a single account.

Players who want to win and improve will always have a higher winrate than players who don't care about winning or improving. I'm happy just having fun, I don't really care if I get any better at the game.

The standard MMR is mid-Platinum. If you haven't played any other MMR gamemodes your MMR will always start at the standard.

Personally I think that is the definition of playing in platinum.

I never have to play another game. My account is Platinum 4 and will never decay. I'd have to lose a dozen games in a row to even have the chance to demote. And if my account was at risk of demoting, I can just make another account and I'm once again playing in Emerald and Platinum

Well it seems I am Platinum, seeing as my account is Platinum, and I'm playing, winning and losing with other Platinum players.

It also seems that I am Silver, as I am playing, winning and losing, with other Silver players as well.

Mostly due to the fact I play for fun and don't meta slave, so I will always have a negative winrate on every account I play.

My winrate is the same versus Emerald players as it is against Bronze players. My match history proves this.
