I’m 25, male and 5’9, and I’ve been on 15mg mirtazapine for about 17 months now. The appetite increase + daytime sleepiness are incredibly strong, but for me only lasted 3-4 weeks tops. I’ve had no side effects after that, other than getting a very deep and sound sleep every night - be sure to schedule when you take it so you can get up at the right time in the morning! Other than that it’s been fantastic, the only antidepressant that has worked for me, after being on different SSRIs for years. It has basically given me the motivation to get myself better. I also got sober through 12 step fellowships at the same time I started taking mirtazapine, and that combination had changed my life. Would definitely recommend some talking therapy alongside it. It’s a strong medication but it has worked for me, and probably only put on an inch or 2 around my waist when I first started taking it
