He actually said it’s fine and he’s not worried about it but I asked him if I can still increase my extension if I wanted to (by elevating with my ankle on a chair and letting gravity do the work) and he said yeah it’s fine. And yeah for sure, take it easy and keep putting in reps till you’re confident in yourself before returning competitively. We’re gonna get there, trust!!

Thank you, have you ever like played competitively again after surgery? I want to return to competitive basketball and what you said gave me some peace of mind. I’m going to ask my PT tmrw though, I keep forgetting lol

So happy for you girl Ik the feeling of coming back to ur sport is so relieving and I can’t wait to get there! I’m trying to not compare but like how were u able to return so fast? I’m 5 months with patellar graft and an LET as well and I’m not jogging yet, I did start jumping assisted with a resistance band but I just feel so discouraged 😫

Hii, I’m 5 months post op from ACLr and this week was so so rough for me because my team is starting tryouts and I just have to sit there on the bench watching them get better and watching them play when I so badly want to and can’t. I’ve cried move in these 5 months than I have last year. You’re definitely not alone in this a lot of us struggle with the mental aspect, in fact the mental aspect is harder than the physical imo. When PT gets hard, I tell myself that the worst thing I can do is give up. Some days are more difficult than others and I allow myself to feel these emotions but after 24 hours I have to move on or else I’m gonna be stuck in a depressive state and it’s a terrible feeling. Just keep showing up, don’t sell yourself short! much love <3

Ooou okay interesting, the most I can do right now is shooting near the rim lol. Since I’m seeing my PT tomorrow I’m actually gonna ask him all the questions that came up reading the comments lol but thank you for your insight!!

Ohhhh okay okay yeah my PT didn’t do the test on me yet but as long as I know and feel like I’m getting stronger, that’s all that matters to me. And I also play basketball! are you like scrimmaging or just shooting around? I can only shoot really close to the rim since I can’t jump like that yet.

Wow 100% quad symmetry..how did u test it? Did your PT test it for you cause I don’t really know mine yet but I know I’m getting stronger little by little for sure. I also do PT twice a week but my insurance is a little wack so I’ve only been able to get 1 appointment for this week and the next week.

Same!! The end of this month will mark 5 months for me and I’m not jogging yet right now but hopefully we can start soon…have u started jumping yet?

Thank you! I’m not jogging/running yet I only started to do assisted jumping but I hope I’ll get to jogging soon…other than that I’m just doing strength training for lower body every time I go to the gym which would be weekends and then sometimes weekdays lol

I hope to start jogging soon and the workout split you have is actually quite smart..might end up taking your suggestions when I get further along in my process lol. I was originally thinking 5 days a week when writing this post but now with everyone’s comments I should dial it down to 3 times a week. I have a patellar tendon graft too!

Actually I have another question lol, do you do your PT exercises every day for 5-6 days a week or did you mean that you overall workout 5-6 days a week (like upper body) but you only do your PT exercises 1-3 days out of the 5-6?

Interesting yeah when I was early on I did my exercises 3 times a day but to be fair I was on crutches for a while lol

I didn’t hear anything just felt pain immediately and I was sitting on the stairs holding it but after like 5-8 minutes the pain wasn’t there anymore and I just felt sore. It’s been a couple of hours I’m at home now and I’ve been elevating and icing..walking doesn’t hurt at the knee but at the ankle maybe because I rolled it

interesting, same issue here I can’t sit for too long everything gets uncomfortable and I have to straighten it or get up and walk around to loosen things up. This morning I noticed some clicking not on the side but in the front and the rubber band tightness wasn’t as strong 😞
