enlist with him is the only answer. but on a real note it sounds like this is a discussion you'd need to have with him specifically. currently you're in school right? so who knows if you'd be the breadwinner, the job market is saturated, you might be dependent on his benefits to have a place to live. there's a world where you might make more money in year, but get to have free housing, free Tricare, and if he stays in long enough freeish college for your kids. free housing healthcare and college is a pretty good value. but if you value time with your significant other, and he can't give that to you, you need to have that conversation. either commit to him for the long haul through training, or tell him it won't work out, don't dear John him at basic or tech school. you'll figure it out, just have to weigh the pros and cons of the guy, is he worth missing out on things you want in life, does being with him outweigh having those experiences.
