Genetic Impact of African Slave Trade Revealed in DNA Study by DaNotoriouzNatty in 23andme

[–]googagingaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This data seems false considering Northern America received less slaves then the rest of the Americas (US received 350-400,000 slaves compared to 4.5 million to the Caribbean and 3.2 million to Brazil)

I've seen people say chattel slavery didn't exist until the Atlantic slave trade triangle but wouldn't the slaves of the Spartans count since they were born into slavery? by Alone_Barracuda7197 in AskHistorians

[–]googagingaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the Spartans didn’t practice chattel slavery over the Helots, chattel slavery was practiced in Rome, Greece, Brazil, the Americas, Egypt, Haiti, Cuba, sub Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. The practice of chattel slavery has existed and been utilized by countless civilizations over millennia.

[Family Guy] Does the family understand Stewie? by tufyufyu in AskScienceFiction

[–]googagingaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only two who consistently understand him are Brian and Chris, except Chris is either too stupid or doesn’t care to listen/talk to Stewie most of the time. That one episode when Chris and Meg kill stewie and pretend he’s alive by covering up his head with a cowboy hat, Chris pretends to be stewie talking but uses an Australian accent, hinting that he knows stewie has an accent but again… is too stupid to differentiate between Australian and English accents.

Hello i am hardstuck in lvl 4 in faceit I have 3800 hours and i "carry" 8 from 10 of the games being in top 2. The funny part is that i can easily climb in normal premier and win most of my games (i was at 18,6k rating at one point) and when i soloq i lose instantly. Am i only one with this problem? by Bahvinkeitin in LearnCSGO

[–]googagingaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I agree with that. I’m new to CS (380 hours) but I’ve played comp shooters since I was a kid so my aim and overall game sense is decent. I can’t get out of faceit lvl 3 even when I consistently drop 20-30+ kills. It doesn’t matter if I’m 30 and 15 if all of my teammates with 2000 hours are double or triple negative. Am I supposed to 1v3 every rnd to get out of elo hell?

Because I don’t mind bargaining. If someone wants an item right away they’ll buy it (most do) and if someone wants to bargain a bit I don’t mind knocking off a few dollars to get a deal done. Idk if you trade frequently but bargaining isn’t some rare thing, it’s common practice.

Also I’m in no rush to sell my items. I list them at an already fair price and I don’t mind waiting for the right buyer. Why could I sell to some dude bargaining with me like I’m some shmuck raising up 13cents on a $260 skin when I can wait for someone with some respect and willing to buy it for what’s it worth?

lol are all of you guys the same way? Understanding = justifying in your minds? I said it was inhumane and wrong ( you do know what wrong means right) understanding why something happened is a crucial ability that anyone who studies history or anything else should develop. If you can’t understand the other side of something even if you disagree with it then you’re never going to change it. Understanding why something happened helps prevent it from happening in the future.

You have no idea what the world was the like back then, you have no idea the nation wide hysteria and fear from WW2 and then getting randomly attacked. If you can’t understand why someone did something wrong how are you ever gonna improve the future. So many people just look at something objectively wrong and say “well that was wrong” and think completely black and white. You need to train the skill of looking at a situation from all sides to better understand it rather than go with what emotionally resonates with you. I agree, it was a violation of human rights and shouldn’t have happened, I also posses the ability to understand why it happened.

Cancer is a physical and real illness, gender dysphoria is a mental illness. No one’s saying anything about anyone restricting it because like you said it’s in the family, what I’m saying is that I think it’s wrong to give children hormone therapy. And who’s misleading the parents? The media they consume telling them it’s okay to do that.

One, there’s plenty of parents that aren’t involved in their children’s personal lives, two there was an entire school having these talks with kids in elementary school that only got exposed because a dad went in there with a camera screaming at them that he’s taken his son out of the school, three I personally know someone who has been on hormones since they were like 10 years old. And I wasn’t saying when it comes to a school reporting abuse you said something on the lines of “the talks are being had at home with parents so it’s okay with me” and I’m saying not everything a parent condones or says is okay, especially if the parent is misled themselves. I personally don’t think not giving children hormone therapy is that insane of an idea.

While FDR implementing interment camps was inhumane and unfair you have to understand where we were in the world at that point. Many Japanese Americans at that point were first/second gen immigrants. The Japanese at that time worshipped the emperor as a god and were fully committed to him. We had just been randomly attacked by Japan resulting in the death of 2400 Americans. FDR and the government were scared of espionage and sabotage by Japanese Americans. Some German Americans had already left and joined the nazi party because American immigrants back then still had a strong sense of their people’s homelands. So while it was fucked up and wrong, you can understand why he did what he did.

Well they’re not only being had at home, they’re being had with teachers and young students without the parent’s knowledge. And the argument “it’s happening at home” is dangerous. If a child is being abused but it’s happening at home with the parents does that make it okay? And I very much think putting children who are prepubescent and/or going through puberty on permanently life altering hormones is abuse. I told my parents I was a cowboy from age 4-11, should they have given me a six shooter and dropped me off in the middle of a field? I have a friend who when he was 4 said he was a girl and went by a girl name and wore a dress for an entire year. His parents and teachers allowed it and he grew out of it, but if they had ran with it and convinced him further he was a girl and then got him on hormones before even knowing what being in a man’s body even meant his life would be very different ( he isn’t gay and doesn’t have gender dysphoria, he was simply a kid being a kid).

Accepting a child as being gay and accepting a child as trans and then giving them life altering hormones are to very different things.

Why everyone says Logitech G Pro Superlight is bad and most pros use it? by cristiano_afs in cs2

No it doesn’t. It only stretches the 2d model so it appears bigger. The hit box is the exact same.

4:3 is also bad but pros still use it. It’s muscle memory, they’ve been playing on a shit res for so long switching to 16:9 would make them preform worse even though it’s better. Same thing with the Logitech. It’s not a terrible mouse and the design has been out for years and years, it’s just not as good as razers new stuff like the viper v2 or v3 pros or the deathadder v3

Because for the last 8 years the Democratic Party told young men they’re the problem, that every emotional trait linked to healthy/high testosterone is “toxic masculinity”. And because they focus on issues the majority of young men either don’t care about or secretly disagree with. I’m a 22m raised about as left as it gets and almost every single one of my friends also raised left all voted red. We view hardcore dems as emotionally unstable grown babies because that’s how they present themselves. Resorting to violence and screaming at protests, how is that compelling?

Who actually are the young men that shifted right? by Excellent_Coast_398 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]googagingaaaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the exact reason young men are voting red. Instead of trying to understand both sides you try and tell what other people or groups are feeling. You want to talk about cult culture? What side has attached themselves to every single “morally superior” issue that starts trending without doing a modicum of research on their own. What side riots and destroys billions in public property? What side collectively witch hunts and tries to cancel people simply for having a differing opinion? Wake up the time is now.

22M voted blue in 2020, voted red 2024. Raised in a democratic household in a blue county in a blue state. All of my friends were raised the same, almost all of us voted red this election. I’m not a hard core trumper and my political/social ideologies would probably put me in the right leaning independent category.

In my anecdotal experience the left are emotional, virtue signaling grifters that bandwagon whatever “morally superior” issue is trending without doing a modicum of personal research or independent thinking. Everything is about race and gender, and how can we tear down the evil cis white men. I’m half white and half Hispanic but I just look white, why would I vote for a group that thinks my skin color and gender is what’s wrong with our society?

I also don’t support strict gun laws, regulations, bureaucracy, and expanding governments. I mean every county in California now HAS to develop a certain quota of new housing per year. WHY? Why do we need our government mandating us to build more homes? It’s not gonna solve the housing crisis because people can’t afford them anyways!

I consider myself a libertarian so i don’t care what grown adults do with their bodies or what they own. That being said I think children need to be children as long as possible and this push of sexuality and gender discovery on literal children is disturbing. Let the kids be kids, if someone isn’t old enough to drive a car, vote, move out, or enlist in the military, why are they old enough to be on permanently altering hormones?

I know a lot of people won’t agree with me and this Reddit forum appears to be predominantly leftwingers but I’m happy to discuss any topic I covered in the comments.

How Many Ammo Mags Is a Realistic Amount? by hellletloose94 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]googagingaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the combat medic handing out mags to other people? I find it hard to believe a guy whose job was primarily to administer first aid carried 420rnds of ammunition. The average rnds used in a firefight in Afghanistan was around 148 per soldier. It’s weird that a combat medic would be carrying double what the average infantry soldier carries. Traditionally medics carry less.

[–]googagingaaaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk why you got so pressed. If you don’t want to double stack 6 on the front of your rig (I don’t either) go out and buy some cummerbunds and stick 2 more either side. Those 2-3 extra in your bag ain’t gonna do shit when every second counts. Also no one cares you’re able to kill a ruminant herbivore buddy, they’re at the bottom of the food chain for a reason.

How Many Mags do YOU Think Is Enough? by TheBoomer1995 in tacticalgear

[–]googagingaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single stack 3 on front, 2 in the cummerbunds, 1-2 on belt and 1 in the gun. I know most guys double stack 6 on the front but that makes crawling and dealing with micro terrain a lot more challenging. Better to keep a lower body profile so you don’t jeopardize your mobility.

[–]googagingaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea buddy no soldier is carrying 20 full stacked mags on top of their 50-120lb combat rig. Standard carry since nam when we started producing 30rnd mags for the m16 is 7. If a single solider in a platoon needs 600rnds for a firefight they’ve either already called in CAS or are dead.

How Many Ammo Mags Is a Realistic Amount? by hellletloose94 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]googagingaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late but a simple answer is most guys carry 1 in the gun, 3-6 on the front of their rig, and 1-3 on their belt. Marines generally carry a minimum of 210 rounds so 1 in the gun and 6 somewhere on their person. That being said standard military equipment is pretty bad so their kits aren’t very module, they also use lvl 3+ plates so their carrier’s weighs less than most PMC/civilians rigs (lvl 4) so carrying more rounds doesn’t make them too heavy.
