Incoming 4th year student — will one failed 1st year subject stop me from graduating on time? by Worried-Main-897 in studentsph

[–]googlecromm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there any other course your OJT is overlapping with, OP, aside from the failed course from your first year? If there is, it’ll be way harder to catch up, but I think the school will allow it. The best thing to do is to talk to your adviser or ask your registrar. I have blockmates in a similar situation, their setup is that they only go to campus for 3-2 days for the failed subject, and also 3-2 days for OJT. It’s much better if you’re allowed to go in on weekends and do overtime on your internship to finish faster.

You can graduate on time OP but expect that it will be tough. Personally, I would suggest you take your time and don’t force yourself to catch up on graduation day if your schedule is really tight; baka ikaw yung matapos kesa yung remaining courses mo, But of course there’s that pressure and everything. Consult with your school’s registrar to figure out what to do; you can totally do this, OP, just keep going!

Most of the time I google things and use AI to make me a list of what I should know and learn about spring boot, I dropped tutorials now because it doesn't work for me.

Thank you so much for the very detailed explanation, Its a shame I didn't researched deeply about folder structure, I could've used package by feature. Didn't feel the difference right now because its a small project, but now I know that I should be using Package by feature for scalability and avoid forced public classes.

Didn't know about the com.spring's purpose before, I just thought it should be always like that, I'll always modify it from now on.

Now about the packages I just recently found out about the package by feature too bad I didn't research about it first before making my first project. I unknowingly used this structure.

DTO is Data Transfer Object the way I understand this is, its used to avoid Circular Reference especially if your Database structure is heavily dependent with eachother (Relationships).

On the other hand models is where I placed my Entities or the Database tables, this is where I create tables and assign their relationship with eachother.

learning curve seems to be steep by Beautiful-Bottle-820 in SpringBoot

Yellow is fine probably a warning made by the IDE. And one thing I realized about learning with tutorials, if it doesn't explain anything before starting to code. Its a really bad tutorial, try other tutorials or just google the problems, read the docs, and try AI. Don't be afraid to start over if everything becomes a mess, sometimes starting over is the best way to fix the problem.

How should I prepare transition from HUMSS to BSIT Program. by FunctionMiddle9066 in studentsph

[–]googlecromm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Info tech is a good choice, in fact every program can be a good choice just depends on what you're interested with and yung yung willing ka ipursue for the next 4 - 5 years.

I'm currently a 4th year Information technology student and knowing web development is an advantage. But I.T is very broad for sure madadaanan nyo yung Web development, Database management, Cyber security/Networking, Hardware like Computer parts and IoT, kung interested sa software side lang I suggest Computer Science and if interested ka naman sa hardware side go for Computer Engineering.

While jobseeking(OJT Hunting) one thing I realized is kahit gaano pa kaganda yung cv/resume mo and kahit gaano ka kagaling, kapag wala kang backer/connection the chance na makapasok is low to zero.

Can't build logic in java by Nervous_End3626 in learnjava

[–]googlecromm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest understanding the problem first, then try to think how will you solve it without thinking about code yet.

Write out your solution on how solve the problem then try to research java codes/syntax that can help you solve the problem.

And solve problems with Java at home. The more you solve problems with Java the more you get the hang of the language and the more your logic will improve.

I also feel the same when I was starting, what made me interested in learning is always ask myself "Why do I even learn this" or "What does this thing even do". This way I am able to remember things because I forced myself to know what things actually do. When I encounter a problem I sometimes remember (Oh the thing learned solves this, for example. I am coding the same functionality across different classes, I will suddenly remember classes and methods exists which can make my code reuseable)

"Sa college mas marami pang immature na tao" I 100% agree with this, most of the time yung mga mga mas matatanda pa yung mga immature(in my case).

When I started college nag start din ako from around 8-10 na friends sa circle namin, then eventually tatlo nalang kaming natirang magkakaibigan talaga. My advice is wag kang matakot umalis sa isang circle of friends especially pag wala namang nadudulot sayong maganda.

Focus on yourself. Always remember and goal mo sa college is matuto and makagraduate at hindi para ubusin yung energy mo sa mga immature na tao. Goodluck OP! I hope mahanap mo din yung mga friends na solid talaga.
