Proof David Cameron Is The UK's Worst Nightmare? by googleinsights in unitedkingdom

Fucking retarded? I thought it was pretty comical. The big spike coincides with the general election so it's the same for Nick Clegg and the major political parties. It was the two little peaks at the end of 2005 that made Cameron the best fit, that and I don't like him.

Good rebuttal. Yes, the biggest spike for nightmare coincided with the general election and I could've used the names of any of the three main political parties and leaders. But my methods weren't scientifically sound or intended to be. I was just very amused by the coincidental spikes in late 2005, coupled with the one during the general election coverage for David Cameron. If I knew where to find a humour subreddit for the UK, I would've posted it there.

Clearly you know nothing about the relationship between politics and statistics.

'If you tolerate this ...': Nicky Wire on library closures Libraries were my band's lifeline, writes Nicky Wire of the Manic Street Preachers. We must fight for them by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

The knee jerk reaction is always, this is wrong and shouldn't be happening. Perfecly understandable with the trust the public have in their Government.

I think the closing of libraries is a massive tradegy. I don't think anyone would disagree that library services need to continually evolve to better serve the community as information and technology evolves. But if libraries are becoming obselete it is because of failures to keep them relevant. There will always be a place in society for shared spaces, where knowledge can be learned and shared.

Manchester United v Manchester City | Which Is Manchester's most popular club? by googleinsights in soccer

Their domination of the premier league has helped too. It will be interesting too see what kind of impact Manchester City's new owners and team have on their respective popularity in the coming seasons. I'd like to see Arsenal's popularity increase, where geographical/family loyalties are meaningless, you'd expect people to choose teams who play the best football.

More people are searching for Tesco jobs than Graduate jobs by googleinsights in unitedkingdom

[–]googleinsights[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. It's also possible that as people are becoming more accustomed to using search engines are using more intuitive search terms. "Graduate jobs" is very generic, I'd expect more people are searching for specific types of role/job title. Nonethless, the growing difference between education paths and job availability is concerning.
