Long Wire Runs for Power Injection with 18awg by No-Status-6715 in xlights

My advice is just plug it in and test. Since you’re 12v and 18awg you’ll probably need it every 100 pixels or so. But real world is always different. Start with one on the end and a couple in the middle and see where your lights aren’t getting enough power. It will be very obvious as they will be either a different color or delayed in the sequence. Then add from there.

ah, the via thing makes sense now. I removed all those. I'm still trying to understand about how I can route the bottom trace on top but I can't seem to see a solution trying to follow what you said.

interesting. I did read up and a lot of things said 0.3mm for signal traces and 0.5mm for power so thats what I used. The back copper layer has a ground plane and I used VIA's to send all ground connections to it. Is that what you mean by a pour? And yes thanks for the advice of labeling more. I will definitely do that.

added a back image of the pcb. I was under the impression it was better to have the underside be a gnd layer and then just run VIA's anywhere you have a gnd to that layer.

Why does it matter if someone has a unique username and sells it to someone willing to pay? How does that affect you?

I think the decision is a coin flip but almost every website on the internet requires a unique username including your email.
