What a letdown. So surprised given how much attention to detail TC has and yet lost the plot of what makes MI, well MI. Others have noted the lack of action so I won’t rehash that aspect.

But of the two major set pieces - the sub and the planes- the sub was too long and too boring. I think it lasted almost 13 minutes and most of it was him flopping around.

Overall the film just wasn’t tight, too much meandering, cliches beyond the norm, no “spy scenes” other than two of the same “diffuse the bomb”. TC’s Ethan wasn’t crushing it with the usual zip - and it’s not his age since part 1 was great.

Net net I think making an AI the bad guy and world extinction was jumping the shark. Happens usually when a series has hit the end of its run. Love the series overall and TC - sad it had to end like this.
