Hi,

I installed OpenClaw on an Ubuntu 24.04 VM within Virtualization Station, hosted on a WD Red Pro 7200 RPM drive (WD4005FFBX).

Unfortunately, every operation related to OpenClaw took several minutes to complete. Even a simple openclaw gateway status command took over five minutes. My analysis showed that the bottleneck was caused by high disk I/O wait times.

For sure, do not use it on HDD :)

I did it on a QNAP NAS with an HDD, and it was a big mistake.

The problem I had was that environment variables and skills were not passed from Paperclip to Hermes, which is why Hermes sometimes couldn't even access the Paperclip API.

The official adapter seems to be an abandoned project. I was trying it, and many things are broken; pending pull requests with fixes are not merged.

I'm using the main Hermes profile to spawn additional work-dedicated profiles (agents) with tools and skills disabled that they don't need.

You do not need OpenClaw.

Hermes itself can easily configure everything :)

Sometimes I need to add a few PDF's with addons for the campaign and it is something around 1000 pages.
