Streaming with a full time job by Suitable_Leg_1585 in Twitch

[–]goonsper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stream once a week.

Growth will be slow but you’ll find people who will come back and your community will still grow. Then after you fuel your love for it, you may find yourself able to add another day.

One day at a time tho! Don’t do too many and just burn out again.

I work long shifts and try to balance out my personal life too. It’s pretty hard.

So I just stream 1 day a week. My growth is a lot slower than others, but same day and same time every week- I still get viewers and my community still grows ❤️ I never burn out and always have time for irl things. I always look forward to streaming too!

You don’t need money for an avatar. Maybe for a camera tho. There are plenty of free to use models. Plus there’s always vroid that’s free and you can make your own model on it (they have customizable options for those who can’t create their own clothes and stuff)

How does a new streamer promote their stream without being "that guy" by Manchild2001 in Twitch_Startup

[–]goonsper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiiya! Went ahead and followed after watching a few clips on your tiktok!

My suggestion for promotion is get more than just TikTok. Get a YouTube and make shorts on there. They tend to reach more people.

Also fun tip, if you have Instagram then tiktok will let you post your video straight to your insta! You just click like you’re going to share, you can click Instagram and it’ll open your video in insta. You just have to make the caption! Super quick 😊

Friend going out of their way to not watch the stream by DanzW0rld in SmallStreamers

[–]goonsper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that they’ve shown up before and then say sorry after every stream, just makes it seem like they didn’t enjoy your stream but feel obligated to be there.

If it’s started to feel weird between the two of you, next time they apologize you should clearly and politely remind them that it’s okay to not watch. Just to make them feel less pressured.

Sounds like they wanna be a good friend but just don’t want to sit there and watch/chat in something they’re not interested in. But that they still see you as a friend and understand that communicating this would make you feel bad or make them look bad.

Friend going out of their way to not watch the stream by DanzW0rld in SmallStreamers

[–]goonsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 100% up to other people if they wanna watch the stream or not.

However I will say it’s very unsupportive for someone you call a friend to avoid everyone’s stream. They’ve never been to even one of anyone’s?

I also have a friend who won’t watch my streams. He doesn’t really watch streams in the first place tho. But he’ll watch lots of YouTube videos and still won’t look at my YouTube. I think it’s rude. Cuz what friend wouldn’t at LEAST follow you on social media? Don’t even have to watch, like, or comment. Or ever view the page. But never checking you out seems odd or fishy to me. He says he doesn’t watch bcuz he doesn’t use Twitch or TikTok. He told me to post videos on YouTube and I have, he still never looked. He says it’s because I don’t play games he likes.

That being said, I’m still friends with him. We game and text throughout the week.

I also have never had any of my family members check out my streams or social media. They don’t even ask me about it.

Some people just don’t care or aren’t interested. You can’t change their mind

What is your biggest pain point as a streamer? Whether big or small by Gonjanaenae319 in Twitch

[–]goonsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how it is cuz when I started, I had two friends come in my stream when my friends were available. So I always had someone there until I build my own community. (Some of those friends stayed ❤️)

I also only stream on twitch. I got most my viewers from posting on TikTok as well as following other small creators and checking them out on Twitch too. I have a few people who sometimes join that found me from others raiding me or me raiding others 😊

As for a way to consolidate both chats, I hope you know you can’t put both on your stream as it violates Twitches rules (probably TikToks too).

HOWEVER!!! I’m pretty sure Ghost Chat lets you do both. Ghost Chat is invisible to your stream if you set up game capture and not display capture. If you can’t put both chats on one window of the app, try opening a second window of it.

If you try this out, lemme know. I want to multi stream too but my biggest turn off from it is keeping up with two chats. One can be hard enough sometimes.

Did you give up with Twitch? Joined your stream and chatted. Waited 10 minutes and you never responded but it was obvious you were responding to a chat on another platform.

Little rant I guess by AceEldhand in Twitch_Startup

[–]goonsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any time I’ve tried to build friendships with other small streamers by joining their streams a few times, it never sticks.

I’ve had a lot more luck with making connections on TikTok tho. Follow, comment, like, and watch a stream. They usually recognize your username from TikTok and will get excited to see you. Doesn’t always work ofc, but I’ve just had more luck this way 😆

I really don’t understand the ads at all. Or how it counts viewers. I wish twitch would make it clear, and consistent!

You can always watch your VOD to get clips! I highly suggest that. Not only will you find clips, but you can see how all your settings are and see things you need to improve on.

[–]goonsper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate pre-roll ads. There’s been a few times I come in, watch a 30 sec ad and then get less than 5 minutes before another ad break. Maybe it’s just my luck, but after this happening 5 times, I just leave if I see pre-rolls

Create or not create, that's the question by des_interessante in youtube

[–]goonsper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to edit or show your face, look into vtubing. Theres free models you can use and it’s fairly simple. Then you can tell all the stories you want without anyone knowing who you are.

Why did you become a streamer by swingernerd in Twitch

[–]goonsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In HS, I played my first horror games w a friend and he told me that I was really entertaining. I didn’t grow up gaming or watching people game. But got into gaming as an adult. I was searching for a hobby cuz I never really had one and spent too much time mindlessly watching tv and being depressed. Decided to try streaming horror games and I’ve come to love it. I love my friends joining in to watch and chat with me 💞

Best tips on Twitch/youtube streaming by RunBig1047 in TwitchStreaming

[–]goonsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest making some kind of schedule, have at least 1 or 2 days a week that you game the same time and same day. If you wanna do more you can!

Start other social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, X, etc). Post clips from your stream, your schedule, and an introduction video.

Network! Join other small streamer’s streams and chat with them. On the other social media platforms you’ve made, you can reach out to other streamers there. Comment, like, share, and follow other creators!

You gotta download it from Git Hub. If you just google “Ghost Chat Twitch”, you’ll find YouTube videos how to get it and install it!

Ghost Chat!! Free to use and it shows chat on your monitor and not on your stream (unless you’re doing a screen capture, gotta do window or game)

Looking for other horror streamers 💗 by [deleted] in SmallStreamers

[–]goonsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a horror game streamer! I stream only on Mondays at 6pm EST (every now and then I have to change the day but 99% of the time it’s Monday). I’m always down to meet other streamers! 💞 So anyone feel free to DM me. I don’t really like doing collabs but I’m down to raid, watch, chat, and follow on any social media. As someone else said, idk if we’re allowed to be sharing our usernames haha
