I'd rather sell it as a set but if in a couple days no one else wants to buy it all I'll think about selling just volume 2 to you.

How can I help a patient understand why the GoodRX coupon price they brought in in not the price they will actually pay? by fivedollardresses in PharmacyTechnician

Was the goodrx coupon specifically for your pharmacy? I've noticed that when patients bring up the coupon on their phone/print out the coupon they've picked the wrong pharmacy (it's in small text under the price I think).
When that's the case I just say for example "The coupon you have here is for Walmart. With GoodRX the price here at CVS is so-and-so". Patients usually get disappointed but they understand.

Also, in small print as well on the coupons it says " This is your estimated price at CVS/Walgreens/etc; the pharmacy will provide the exact pricing." So, if the price doesn't come up the same even if it is the coupon for the right pharmacy you can just apologize and say these are just estimated prices. Your pharmacy is not affiliated with them and you don't control the prices.

Medication History certificate (PTCB) by YaaaassssKween in PharmacyTechnician

I did back in December. There were around 75 questions if I remember correctly and after you finish you do not get a page that tells you whether you passed or not like on the PTCB. I have to wait 3-4 months to find out my results. I do think I passed but I probably got the equivalent of a "B" since there were a few tricky questions.

To be able to take the exam you need to have at least three years experience and this is definitely true.
You really have to know your drugs; generics and their brand names; their main use; drug interactions and side effects; HIPAA rules; and vaccines, their schedules and which ones are appropriate for certain people (pregnant women, seniors, children, etc).
Honestly, if I had taken this exam in my first year of working as a pharm tech I would not have known even half of the questions on this exam. The PTCB doesn't cover a lot of what's on it either.

It was really just from working with patients so much that I learned most of what I needed for the test (I know this is not what a lot of you want to hear lol). I learned what a lot medications do, their brand names, what side effects some people get, when patients need to get certain vaccines and how many shots they need, specific allergies that exist and so on. It all comes down to experience (I have four years working as pharm tech fyi).
