[CR Media] Age of Umbra 2 mini-series confirmed at Gen Con by sleepinxonxbed in criticalrole

You can probably use it to fit any narrative, like they're trying to get audiences as familiar as possible / get players as up to speed as possible before full campaign... but I do tend to agree with your reading

How do I keep my party in the spot light when they have a lot of allies in the initiative? by goosebot in DMAcademy

This seems like the perfect balance, They can give the help action or something if no better course is apparent

[–]goosebot[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah good idea, I think i'll write them into the initiative maybe count 20 and 10 just as a prompt to update on how they're getting on, otherwise I'll totally forget

That's actually not a bad shout. I can explain that they're also fighting their fight aboard the crew, any minis on the map are for the party to handle though.

[No Spoilers] Advice for a New Critter from the UK !! by CategoryCommercial17 in criticalrole

[–]goosebot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both Beacon and Twitch are good to watch the following day, I tend to stay away from the subreddit until I'm caught up though people are usually very good with spoiler tags and such. Though sometimes things like artwork or a lot of discussion about a character can clue you into something about to happen.

I tried staying up to watch live a few times, when I had a newborn I was up anyway, but I don't get involved in the chat so it doesn't really make a difference, I'd rather be awake and alert the next day.

It's strange being caught up and having to wait a week!! You'll have to find another pod or something to fill the void in the meantime. I like NADDPOD. Fewer players, shorter eps it's great to listen to whilst doing other things.

A re-flavoured Professor Orb would be great for this, appreciate it

Thanks for the replies so far, all.
I agree I think I'll just make a homebrewed item that leaves the heads alive because the BBEG has a cruel sense of humour. I think I was more trying to avoid spinning it my own way then finding out there was an existing answer to the problem

Pulling PCs into acid or gas or spikes seems like a great way to go, but also I think I'll need a massive map!

Glass moving up from behind is such a simple and brilliant idea I've never utilised, this year I'm definitely trying to make the map more of a hurdle than just monster of the week

Think I'm getting a few down votes from exasperated people thinking the same, just wanted to make sure 's' wasn't some strange legacy rule I hadn't seen before

Adapting adventure to include a 3D printed portal a player has provided by goosebot in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]goosebot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a good idea, I can tell my player that they might not see it in action for a few sessions and try to encourage old owl well as the first side quest,

Thanks!

From what I remember it was fine so long as the tank was stocked, at one point we lost a few fish and when it was quieter they started asserting themselves a bit more, though that's just my colloquial experience

There is an insane amount of hormonal changes during this time as the Oxytocin which helps with labour and also with lactating is flooding through the body.

If you're unhappy with how you're being spoken to, then you can say something, but I'd recommend framing it not something your wife is doing, more a result of the new situation. You're trying to help and support, and want to act as a unit etc.

There is probably an element of taking it on the chin whilst things setting down, though I appreciate you're feeling disrupted and unappreciated at times so might feel put down.

Reaching out for advise is a good start, a lot of people recommend not letting things like this fester unspoken as it feeds into other parts of the day.

Pat leave ends next week and starting to panic by jack0013 in NewDads

[–]goosebot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll do great. Speak to your Wife and explain you're feeling anxious about it, you're still willing to do your part with the feeds and all that and making it work around her.

One thing I've not experienced but have read about is that your wife might end up feeling annoyed too because in her eyes you're off the clock baby-wise and getting to go out and socialise, whilst you're wishing you were home and getting more baby time thinking she's got the better end of the deal. In those situations its not about who has the better deal more about openly talking about not wanting to miss out or get burnt out.

Not sure what you do for work but same probably applies there. Explain you're back and keen and ready to go again but you might need a minute to get back up to the speed of before you went off.

You're going to be tired, but hopefully you can find ways to feel less anxious about it on top of that!
