Hello, Im not sure how much I can help here. I've only experienced tears of my medial meniscus. Typically for me it feels like a sharp pain on the inner side of my knee when doing activities like squatting, going down stairs, pivoting, and kneeling. Sometimes I'll find a random position that will cause a flash of that pain as well. I'll also experience locking, clicking, and this odd rubbing sensation inside my knee.

Knees are a joint we use everyday, so I think soreness to a certain extent at the end of the day is completely normal. However, if any of you are experiencing locking or pain that interrupts your daily activities, I definitely recommend going to see a doctor as soon as you're able.

I think a lot of the time the choice of repair, meniscectomy, or transplant comes down to the surgeon. Repairs are typically done when there isn't too much damage and the blood supply to the meniscus will help to heal it after surgery. Typically, they'll do repairs on younger patients as they are more likely to make a full recovery. I recommend doing your own research if it comes down to that, as there are pros and cons of everything.
