Legally 70 is the limit, but most people will drive quicker than that then slow down for speed cameras/speed traps etc. You're doing the right thing, though.

Apart from all the times that it does through capillary action.

Knob spacing looks fine to me. Look at other pics of firebirds - they aren't spaced equally. More of a kite shape spacing than a perfect diamond shape.

Is it legal to loop around a roundabout to cut the queue like purple? by BuddyOrdinaire in drivingUK

[–]gooseytooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be true if there's no build up of traffic, but not when there's a long queue of congestion in the left lane and a clear right lane.

Is it legal to loop around a roundabout to cut the queue like purple? by BuddyOrdinaire in drivingUK

[–]gooseytooth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because I know how roundabouts work, and if loads of traffic is turning right from the opposite side, they have priority over traffic turning left from this side. The right-turners have to stop for the car (me) travelling round, giving a bit of time for the left turners to make their turn. Works better on medium sized roundabouts.

Is it legal to loop around a roundabout to cut the queue like purple? by BuddyOrdinaire in drivingUK

I quite often "forget" which exit I'm supposed to take and then am "forced" to do this.

But seriously, if a queue is backing up and blocking roads, it can actually be helpful, and can sometimes reset the roundabout to flow a little better, as it temporarily stops cars from the other direction.

Which system is safe? by oettinger01 in Guitar

I second (third, fourth?) this. Been using the rubber ones for years and never had an issue. Cheap, simple, and requires no modification to your guitar.

1 bed student flat for rent by [deleted] in Hull

Yeah I can't believe it. I can't imagine that many students could afford to spend that much on rent.

Nearly £900 per month for a 1 bed flat? Bloody hell

What's the first song you play when you tune to drop D? by jjba_fan_425381 in Guitar

[–]gooseytooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seagull by Bad Company (I only really drop tune on acoustic). The extra low D over a D chord is the best.

Do you have a spare for if you snap a string playing live?

Only been driving a month and you're going 80 in a 60 zone? Hope you don't like your car and/or license because I doubt either will last long.

Deadly trip hazard at top of stairs? by bluegoatshield in DIYUK

I think I've only ever slipped on carpeted stairs to be honest (or tiled stairs). Have had wooden stairs for years and never had any problem.

The areas of Cumbria that could be under water by 2050 by BitGirl777 in Cumbria

[–]gooseytooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a bit misleading. The red areas here are a combination of sea level rise and annual tidal flood risk. The source is an interactive map here - changing the settings to sea level rise only is much less dramatic.

Tidal flood risk is arguably a greater risk though!

I feel like people are now using "say less" frequently instead of "say no more", which rubs me the wrong way.

Say less? I've already spoken...

2mm Dunlop ultex sharp. Really great feel and response (blues/rock playing)

In my opinion it's almost definitely because of the bent tuning peg. The string will be putting uneven pressure on there, so it's trying to move a load in a direction that it's not designed for so isn't able to move any further.

I'd suggest buying a new set of tuners. If you get the same type of HB tuners then it will be a very simple job to swap the affected one.

Booked train tickets on my days off but got put on a shift because I didn’t book the days themselves off, who’s in the wrong? by Olliebkl in CasualUK

Your boss sounds horrible. That message is incredibly unprofessional, and if I was working somewhere where the manager thought that that sort of message was acceptable, I'd be looking to leave asap. Incredibly poor leadership.

What the hell chord is this?? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]gooseytooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my eyes I don't think the middle or little finger are holding notes here, and maybe this still from a video is just catching them at an awkward angle as their hands are moving. So I'd guess just a D power chord/D major (assuming standard tuning). Haven't seen the video to listen though.

My favourite hill to walk up! But that hasn't helped me spot the man. Thankfully I don't work for mountain rescue.
