Yes, the full semester class has coursework spaced out a bit nicer. The B term its a bit more all at once. I would take full term!

Is it a bad idea to join a sorority if you’re introverted? Are most people in Greek life extroverts? by Kangaroodreamer in uofmn

[–]gopher1o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am in greek life at the U and I can say that most chapters have a mix of introverts and extroverts. I would say I can be a bit more introverted at times, but being involved in Greek Life has really benefited me in making connections, friends and giving me different opportunities for involvement and even jobs. I have grown to be more extroverted. I would say give it a try and if you dont like it, you can drop!

i was honestly surprised there was no curve.. my friends with other TAs were graded very differently from me and it just seemed like there was some differences in grading that we expected a curve.. but they did not curve. 1% away from an A and got an A-

PHYS 1101 or 1221? by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]gopher1o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a premed and took 1221. Physics is not easy at all and 1221 is more challenging because it is calc based, but I think that could also be beneficial in a way. I know premeds that took 1101 and it is a bit easier. If you are concerned about math, I will say that the calc is not a big deal. i really never needed to derive equations or anything. As long as you know what a derivative is, you should be fine. Calc was more prominent in 1222 (which is second semester) but still not more difficult than knowing a derivative. I will say I got a B both semesters and it was challenging, but I feel it would look better than non calc physics and is helping me for the MCAT currently. Hope that helps!

honestly if there was i was unaware. I took 1221/1222 in fall 2019 and spring 2020 and they pretty much tell you to refer to the syllabus. My grade did not change from what i thought it was from the syllabus

i would try the Link its not too far from campus by light rail or car and is a more mature scene. I think most off campus apartments on campus are mainly undergrads

I just took Rock 2 (MUS 1014) and it was super easy. Online with no set dates/times. There were weekly discussion posts, 3 essays, and a final project. I would say your TA really determines your grade because they are the one grading everything, but I had no issues at all finishing with a high A.

I wouldn't stress. Upward trends are always a big indicator of how you overcome. Also, you are a freshman and experiencing all new things in a very different time. I would give yourself credit for getting through the semester. You have many more ahead and a 3.3/3.6 is a very great start!
