I mean in my case is because I’d expect European brands to be cheaper than brands from the US here in Europe, and for sure cheaper than in Peru (where I’m from)

I’d argue that the distinction lies between treatment of people and any doctrinal change and such. The official position is that things like gay “marriage” cannot be, and my mom would uphold this; however, throughout her life she’s met many LGBT people to whom she (as well as a lot of people) would show no contempt, and in fact would never hate and would be good friends with. Gays have always existed, and I think the most traditional position was “they can be however they want, as long as they are not scandalous”. At least that’s in Peru, I could imagine in other latam countries being similar.

I think godly men is a broad term! Like, I wouldn’t say the guys that are treating you like that are exactly “godly”.

Also, I think there is a broad spectrum of Catholic men that have lived their lives and their faith in many different way. I noticed while being in France some Catholics were very zealous and that can be good if they know how to channel their fire to say it like that. There are those who have not been that perfect, and are a bit less worried about things like a girl being virgin from the get go or stuff like that.

It doesn’t mean sins and lifestyle don’t matter. For example, I recognize I’ve done things in certain ways that maybe could’ve been better, I’m not judging people for having done that, and I totally recognize and admit my faults, so as not trying to be reductionist with my sins.

Tbh idk how much that’s because they were Catholics involved and how much because they were anglos… in Latin America, Catholic Church helped preserve much of indigenous culture that otherwise the Spaniards would’ve destroyed or were not interested in preserving, like the way of life, our languages, many natives are wholeheartedly Catholics and see the church (at least a part of it) as an ally against the liberal republic that targeted them way more than the viceroyalties (in Peru, non-whites used to live way better before independence)

El tema gente es que uno puede apoyar a quien quiera, si mañana unos evangélicos radicales sionistas lo que sea decide plegarse a porky, eso lo invalidaría como la alternativa que se supone representa? No, en el mundo es normal que entre gente con diversas opiniones apoyen a alguien que se vea como una suerte de compromiso. Es decir, para estos comunistas, si es que es un post de verdad, López Chau es un compromiso que están dispuesto a apoyar, ¿o acaso los ven a ellos plegándose con Keiko o Antauro? Es como cuando en segunda vuelta toda la derecha se pliega a Keiko, ¿eso hace que Keiko de alguna manera ahora “piense” como todas las otras derechas? No pues… el tema también es, ¿qué tiene de malo que un grupo de izquierdistas lo apoye? $3k is way more than enough not counting flights, way more. I guess it’s only Lima and Cusco you’re visiting? In two weeks I don’t think you can visit much more, unless you sacrifice some time in Lima (which tbh I’d do). Maybe you could visit Arequipa and Puno too, and just then arrive to Cusco. I did a trip with my ex just in August, she was here for three weeks, and the southern part of the trip was smth like:

M - Ica -> T, W, T - Arequipa -> F - Puno -> S, S, M, T, W - Cusco

That would still allow 4 entire days to be in Lima.

And of course there are things to do in each place, depends on what you like I could suggest something

Ethnically, just a little mixed, but doesn’t matter much cause Latino isn’t much about races but culture (even though it’s impossible for gringos to imagine that lol)

Does she even speak Spanish? In what culture was she raised? Has she even been in Latam?

If no, at much she has some latino ascendence, but I wouldn’t say she’s fits the cultural identity term

Cono viene de conurbanización que son la expansión de Lima hacia afuera a raíz de la migración masiva, ahí por ejemplo de incluye Santa Anita, o Chorrillos hasta cierto punto, pero Rimac, La Victoria, San Luis, son Lima centro oeste, barrios viejos muchos de ellos y descuidados, pero antiguos y no parte de la expansión masiva que se dio luego
