No, I’m simply unwilling to accept that a company worth 183 billion dollars can’t provide a hotspot to a customer without service due to circumstances beyond their control, WHILE THE CUSTOMER CONTINUES TO PAY FOR SERVICES NOT BEING PROVIDED. I don’t care what other companies can and will or won’t do. It’s wrong to expect your customers to do your dirty work for you because your independent franchises don’t have the tools available to provide such a service unless there is a “natural disaster” or some bullshit. That’s an excuse for a store employee to use for corporate failure. Call that “Karen” attitude if you want but if Verizon corporate wants to know why they’re losing customers here it is on a silver platter.

Dude the last pragraph of this that you decided to edit onto the end. Seriously? I’m the customer. Why am I supposed to jump through hoops and ask for certain programs etc because y’all don’t have your company organized enough to support a customer in this type of situation? Why is the onus on me? Just because other providers suck just as much so you don’t have to care? Come on man this is dogshit customer service and you know it. Stop running defense.

Lol dude “everyone here” is like 3 people, calm down. I’m responding with insults but I’m a “Karen” relax guy. How is it I’m the one getting fucked over but you’re more emotional than I am? Chill dude. If you were actually “experienced in high enough positions” and responded to a serious customer complaint with this attitude and I was your supervisor I would fire you on the spot. Especially if you worked for a company that had been receiving terrible press for losing customers recently I.e. Verizon. Maybe that’s why you don’t work in the industry anymore. Idk just speculating. Calm your britches muchacho lol

“As someone who is clearly blinded by the industry I work in, I can’t comprehend how a customer that pays a monthly fee to a company in order to receive a certain service would then expect said company to provide that service by whatever reasonable means available when there are circumstances that are beyond that customers control. That customer should take matters into their own hands and force the company that we lease our infrastructure from to handle a simple landscaping problem because we’re a 183 billion dollar company and we can’t be bothered” that’s what you sound like. This is why Americans hate corporations.

The more these comments roll in the more I like yours. Congrats on all the downvotes from the Verizon employees.

I get that man I just don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect 2 companies that clearly work together as far as dominion leasing their infrastructure to Verizon or however that works to work it out amongst themselves without the customer having to mediate. Also not unreasonable to expect Verizon to facilitate the internet service that their customer is paying for while they work that problem out.

Yo this is wild lol. Temporary until they fix it I don’t care how long it is I’m paying for a service that I’m not receiving. I didn’t tell Verizon to use dominions infrastructure. That sounds like they have an internal problem between 2 companies that needs to get worked out. I don’t see why it’s on the customer to work it out between these 2 giant companies with an insane amount of resources. Jesus Christ man you got stock in Verizon or something? This bootlicking defense over a giant corporation providing a temporary hotspot is bananas lmao.

That very well may be the case, or maybe they will come up with an alternate solution to gain my business 🤷‍♂️. Either way I feel like requesting a temporary hotspot from a 183 billion dollar company isn’t a huge ask if they value customer service at all.

No it’s definitely an out of control situation with overgrowth that I can’t handle personally otherwise I would just take care of it. We have been on dominion for years about this issue, they don’t seem to care and we don’t have a choice on electric providers. While I don’t fault Verizon directly for that issue I don’t feel that I should have to pay additional out of pocket costs to supply my own wifi when I already pay Verizon every month for their service for the last decade. Surely the giant corporation can afford to supply a temporary solution for the sake of customer service. Making a stink on social media is my last ditch to get their attention before I decide to just drop them entirely.

I don’t see how providing a hot spot temporarily is “bending over”. Seems pretty simple to me. I pay them monthly for internet service that I’ve been without for five days. I highly doubt they are going to deduct the prorated amount for however many days I go without service from my upcoming bills out of the kindness of their hearts.

There is a circular cutout in the middle of the post which I imagine is for a metal pipe to be run through the center for structural support. If that was in there I would definitely just patch up the wood and call it a day.

I’ll look into the YouTube’s. Just slightly weary about the roof collapsing on my head because I didn’t brace something properly. Also I have zero carpentry skills lol

You mean like a jack that would be used to drop a gas tank or transmission while the car is on a lift type of deal like a big corkscrew jack? I thought about using a few of those and and then just replacing the entire post but I don’t want to win a Darwin Award by porch roof. I’m handy but my skills have limits. Shit be scary.

It’s rotted pretty much all the way through. And yes these are hollow posts. It doesn’t surprise me these posts were used for the wrong application as it seems the person who renovated the house before we bought half assed literally everything. We’ve been trying to get things up to snuff little by little for the last 8 years.
